Longest 73NG Or 738/739 Flights (? )

Thu Jul 01, 2004 10:13 pm

Well I have see the post for longest A320 flights...I at least have not seen any for 73NG, 738 or 739.
(My apologies if this was posted before..I am fairly new on A.NET)

My picks are:

SEA - MIA -> ALASKA ->73NG or 739 (vary)

Panama City - EZE -> COPA -> 73NG

Port of Spain - Toronto -> BWIA -> 738

Astraeus operates LGW-Malabo (Equatorial Guinea). IIRC that is the longest 737 flight that exists.

Astraeus LGW-SSG 3305 miles might be the longest non-stop flight.But Air Pacific's YVR-HNL-NAN 5867 mile flight must be the longest direct flight for a 737.

What is the load for Astraeus' LGW-Malabo ?

NEOS fly the 738 on MXP-FCO-SID (Ilha do Sal, Cap Vert)

NOVAIR fly the 738 to the Canaries and Egypt.

AFAIK, Travel Servis send the 738 to Colombo, Male or Goa via an Emirati airport !!!

Sounds interesting...

I know COPA flies from Panama City, PA to Buenos Aires, Argentina - NONSTOP
on a Boeing 737-700NG. I believe the flight is about 5 to 6 hours.

PTY-EZE seems to be a few kilometers longer than LGW-SSG.

The longest ever flight undertaken by a 737, was by N737ER. It flew from Seattle to Jeddah non-stop.

Bloody fine aircraft too!

The LGW - Malabo flights are on the 737-700 and one seat in every row of 3 is left free for extra comfort.If the 737 can do the 3305 mile flight, why doesnt the 737 make an appearance on the lower load transatlantic flights? Surely it could gain ETOPS for it, and please NOBODY mention the bloody LH flights on the 737BBJ, its got extra tanks and carries hardly any pax so it doesnt count!

At 2407 Miles Aloha flies from Oakland to Honolulu on a 737-700. It must rank right up there near the top. Certainly one of the longest over water segments.

Don't forget about AS from ANC to ORD:

PTY-EZE 3313 mi
LGW-SSG 3305 mi
ANC-ORD 2846 mi
SEA-MIA 2724 mi
HNL-YVR 2705 mi
POS-YYZ 2528 mi
Direct KNOBS, maintain 2700' until established on the localizer, cleared ILS runway 26 left approach.

Very Interesting...long flights indeed.
PTY-EZE still amazes me on the Copa 73NG!

How long is the COPA PTY-JFK leg ? not sure if its on the 738 or 73NG
It must be a bit shorter than the POS-YYZ route of BWIA.

Qblue, when you said SSG, did you mean SSH (Sharm El Sheikh)?

Horus - SSG is Malabo in Equitorial Guinea. Flight time is around 7 hours, although I was operating a flight (which featured in an Airliner World article!) where we carried out two missed approaches into Malabo, and then diverted to Duala in Cameroon. Flight time was around 8 hours 15 mins! Astraeus have operated two flights tranatlantically to Deer Lake in Newfoundland, Canada, and should be flying there this winter, although flight times are only 5 hours 30 mins or so. The LGW- SSG flight is now operated on our 757 G-OAVB offering a 36 in seat pitch throughout the cabin.

This topic is great because I tried to get more info on Air Pacific's flights from YVR-HNL-NAN. Got a great price but what service can I expect on their 737 800s. The price was Cad800 less than Quantas or any other combinations.

I am surprised that more CO flights are not listed! I know they really strech their A/C as far as range. It's a great move economically but it is not the best being in a narrow body for a long flight. They have Service from EWR to the Caribbean and to Mexico. Their EWR-PVR flight is 2,287 miles and lasts 5 hoirs and 26 minutes going(slightly less on the return).

I would think the sat only service on CO from EWR to SJD with a 700. I think that is in the neighborhood of 6+30hrs.

AQ's HNL-YVR route is around 2704 mi (4350 km), which is around 6hrs 22mins of flight time.
