Best Route Out Of Any Airline Hub In The U.S

Wed Aug 11, 2004 6:58 am

I live in Tampa and it is easy to fly to any airline hub in the U.S. My question is what is the best flight to take within the U.S based on price, aircraft (preferably a large one), airline, destination attractions, flight length, service and the airport? I want to go somewhere but don't know where. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are thinking of International then Air NZ fly their B763ERs from AKL-LAX and return via 1 or 2 Pacific Island airports

aircraft (preferably a large one

I would suggest that you take a flight out of any of the United Airlines Hubs. I mean you can get on a 777 to chicago or san francisco from denver.

Yeah, I like to keep my political comments to the signature line.

But, I would suggest flying AA to DFW, then going from there. AA is clearly the best airline in the US, and DFW is among the top airports.

AA7573E,
The man wants to go somewhere and he is asking a valid question. I don't think he's asking to be judged as to whether he could afford it or not, or who's paying for it for that matter. I suggested deletion for YOUR post. And at 45 years old at most, with all due respect, you should think twice about posting such a "pointless post" yourself.

Bushcheney2004,
Any flight out of ORD (if you are a United flyer) should be pretty worthwhile, particularly to popular (and high load factor) destinations such as SFO, DEN, LAX or LGA to name a few. Value-wise, your best bang-for-the-buck places to visit are the west coast cities. I fly ORD-SFO all the time and often see deals either under or a little above $200. Of course flying from TPA will be a little more but if you can get a flight with decent times for around $300, I say go for it. You get a good amount of miles as well for a great price.

If you're thinking international locations, flights to Asia tend to be a little pricier and there are a lesser amount of deals out there compared to flights to Europe. I fly ORD-NRT or ORD-HKG twice a year and have never really found a great value for those routes. ORD-SIN on the other hand might be a good option if flights ever go back down to around $700 or so.

In any case, there are plenty of options flying in and out of ORD.
Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

There's a specific forum on A.net for this type of question. It's called "Polls and Preferences." I suggested to the moderator that this thread be moved there.
Airliners.net has many forums. It has spell check and search functions. Use them before posting!

How is it a poll or a preference, Bicoastal? It's not a "what your favorite" type quesiton. The guy is obviously asking to make the best out of a personal trip. Suggest removal of your post...

From TPA, try going to IAD and catching United out to LA. Chance to get on an internationally-configured 763, and fares are in the $200 range.

Bushcheney2004,

Sorry you have to put up with so much B.S. to get a simple answer.

I suggest taking a DL flight to or through ATL. You will have good shot of getting on a 767. There are plenty of things to do in the Atlanta area, or you could take a 767 to ATL and connect to a 767 to DFW. There are plenty of things to do in the DFW area, Dallas is a nice city. You could fly up to LGA and take 767s all the way through as well.

There is a great fare sale out of TPA right now. LGA, JFK, EWR, ATL, CLT, MHT, PVD, BUF, BDL and BOS all have flights from $103 round trip. Check travelocity out.
The New American is arriving.

I think I have a winner. You fly a 757 or MD-80 on a short flight to MIA than fly the best plane ever made!
MIA-LAX 777! Or MIA-DFW 777.

or any popular flight #s

most popular flight #s are double digits - talk about widebody jets, 5+ hour flights, in-flight hot meals, in-flight movies, in-flight pillows & blankets, most senior & experienced crew members...

Thanks a lot to anybody who helped. I found a United Airlines 747 flight from ORD-SFO for $163. I did not know that they fly 747's on that route.

jetBlue from JFK to Vegas. A great route as people are always hyped up about potentially winning the jackpot, of course the number who actually do is enormous as can be seen on the faces on the return flight  Smile

Does anybody know of any other routes in the U.S that are serviced by 747's besides ORD-SFO?
