Has Anybody Riden In A 328 Jet, Whats It Like?

Tue Nov 02, 2004 10:04 am

I take my first trip in one at the end of month. Skywest DSM-MKE-CLE and back. What are they like? What do you like about them (or not like).

I've talked to a 328 (prop) pilot who said the 328 jet climbs better on one engine than the prop does on two.

Let me take a wild guess...your on Midwest Connect? I've taken the flights from msp-mke-msp. The seats were hard to get into on the A side. but they were comfortable. There is a picture of it on here somewhere..

Thanks for the pics!!  Big grin

I guess it should've been skyway not skywest.

Seating I've got 10D to cle the return its 4D and 6A.

From your interior picture, it almost looks smaller than an emb145/135?

Baw2198,

The 328 jet is pretty small with only 32 seats compared to the 135 with 37 and the 145 with 50. I haven't had a chance to ride in one yet but I sure hope to eventually since I've heard a lot of good about them. Someone once told me that the take-offs are really great and as mentioned before they are very comfortable. Enjoy your trip on Midwest Connect and your connection at MKE!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

The 328jet is known as a climber. It takes off quick and gets up to altitude quick, but cruises slow. This is all because of the straight wing and jet engines. It is more efficient in flights less than 200mi than the ERJ and the CRJ. The slow cruise gets to it after that.

Other than that it gets you from point A to point B with out too many hassels

Ah, the first small plane I ever flew onboard. DLC (ACA) JFK-BOS august 2001. Nice ride but my A seat was right by the wing and the engine does get in the way of the view.

Have a great flight, the 328JET is one of the best planes ever created! Try and get 11A if you can switch. You get the whole row to yourself because across the way from you is a door (and the f/a sits behind you and they are really fun to talk to)! Try and get the "A" seats if possible, those are both window AND aisle seats, the best of both worlds! Once again, have a great time!  Big thumbs up

I flew ACA Delta Connection from PHL to JFK in May. A really nice little plane. It was very comfortable. I wouldn't mind spending an hour or more on that plane. The engine was across from me, but it was still quiet.

Enjoy Your Flight,

Flew a couple on Skyway back in 2003 BDL-MKE-BDL, and even with this being the longest Skyway route it was comfortable and pleasant. The leather seats helped, also a neat thing is that flight attendant storage and the galley is in the back, so when you get on you aren't squeezing into the plane as on ERJs. Also, at least with the Skyway birds there is a small window that looks into the cockpit from the cabin, and on the BDL-MKE they didn't cover it, so it was pretty cool being able to look foward and out the front; MKE-BDL they covered with a piece of paper.

Thanks for the info guys!!!  Smile

I'm looking forward very much to flying on this a/c. Seat wise I've got 10D, 4D 3D. Thats all they had left. I'll try to change a seat on the way back if its not too much trouble.

Thanks again

Aaron

I flew in an ACA (Delta Connection) FRJ from JFK to BOS - it was fun, quite a roomy cabin (I had the single seat on the left hand side, one row back from the front. Nice flight, pretty short, pretty quiet.
