Which Airline Is Better To Fly USA-Europe-Mumbai?

Thu Nov 25, 2004 7:41 am

Hi Everyone,

I have a question. Which airline is better to fly from the US to Europe to Mumbai? I live in Los Angeles and tend to only fly over the Pacific when I visit relatives in India. This time I am considering flying over the Atlantic, instead since much of the Pacific routings to India are sold out over the holidays. I did have a VS/EK ticket combination at one point, but I waited too long to purchase the ticket and the price increased by a thousand dollars.  Sad
Anyways, just curious if anyone can suggest any good airlines that fly over the Atlantic to India.

Thanks for the help,
Naveen Big grin

I've a couple that can get you all the way from CA to Mumbai. Delta or NWA.
Routing could be NWA

LAX-MSP-AMS-Mumbai

or Delta
LAX-ATL-JFK-FRA-Mumbai

Skyteam all the way baby...
Twinjets...if one fails, work the other one twice as hard!!!

BA. Fly to LHR then on to Mumbai. Or you could fly to Chicago and fly Air India - ORD-LHR-Mumbai - always great food!

Naveen,
what dates do you plan to travel if I may ask???

I'd give a try to SWISS!!! LAX-ZRH-BOM nice and easy, both legs served by A340... I flew TXL-ZRH-DEL with Swiss a year ago and it was a very recommendable experience.

You've a choice of:

AI via FRA
DL via JFK and CDG
KL/NW via AMS
LH via FRA
LY via TLV
SU via SVO

AF, BA and LX all do LAX-Europe and Europe-BOM, but don't connect. With these 3 out of the picture, I'd say take AI. Perfectly good and by far the quickest. No IFE though!
