KEno, I believe that the thread you mention specificied the airline as an international carrier. Reading JumboJim's post, there is no such specification. Therefore, it is NOT the same. One could choose to operate a national carrier, a regional or commuter airline, based on the manner in which JumboJim presented his thread.

In response to the original post, my airline, a regional operated in the Western United States, would be called NewWest Airlines. It's base would be in Phoenix, AZ and it would serve rural communities in Arizona with either Embraer EMB-110's or DeHavilland DHC-6 Twin Otters. It would also provide shuttle service between PHX and TUS with either a Fokker F28 or a Fairchild-Dornier 328Jet.

My airline would also serve destinations in Nevada, California, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Washington and Oregon. It would operate RJ's, most likely Embraer jets, on most of these routes, but would utilize turboprops to smaller airports within each state.
Long live the RJ!

Thanks for the clarification appreciated .
NewWest
I like the name of your airline also the choice of the 328jet is not a bad choice .

I'd like to start a low cost carrier and just call it "airline."

Planes would be solid yellow with a barcode on the tail.
Happiness is not seeing another trite Ste. Maarten photo all week long.

That is a great idea i like it
How about a large scanner to scan the bar code at the terminal .
Great way to go but would that give the indication to others that its a cheap carrier ?

Cheers
