Colorschemes That Aren't Worth Changing

Tue Dec 28, 2004 1:01 pm

I have many liveries that fit this category. AA, CO, LH, BA, QF, NW, WN canyon blue, Aeromexico, Cathay Pacific, KLM, and many more. Which colorschemes do you hope are never changed?

I love Royal Jordanian´s colors, I think a livery change would bring a dull "modern" livery with more white...

AA is a classic... they couldn't improve on that.
I agree with Levent as well... Royal Jordanian has a nice scheme.

American, Cathay Pacific & Continental all deserve to stay.

No-one seems to have mentioned any LCCs, so I'll add EasyJet to the list:

I don't mind the odd tweak every now and then like KLM did... I think that was just enough to refreshen a basic look that's excellent..

so:
KLM
American
British Airways
Lufthansa
Northwest
Continental
Hawaiian
Cathay Pacific
Singapore Airlines
Air India
Lan Chile

to name a few that I hope keep the principal look they have now even if they fo update it a little.

To answer your question literally, AA. They would actually have to spend money on paint.  Big grin

I think AA has one of the most universally-recognized liveries, and like it a lot, but somehow still think that their earlier "Lightning Bolt" scheme was (is) better. There are a lot of us that spend a lot of film when the AA "retros" make a local appearance. Is that because it's unique, or is it because we really LIKE it?

If the bucks could be spent to come up with a nice silver as opposed to the "Boeing Grey" used on the composite parts (especially the fins), I'd like to see them resurrect the the orange, one or two slash lightning bolt (depending on cheatline elevation-to-nose tip on various a/c) on the fleet. I'm probably giving away my age here. Regards..Jack

DL, not because I like it, because I would go insane looking at yet another livery here at SLC.

with that said...

AC
LH
WN
Icelandair
UA
F9
B6
...probably more

not a huge fan of KL or NW's, I'm afraid

US Airways (They'll die any day now, and besides, the planes are already painted in black Big grin)

NW's "bowling shoe" (This new livery looks good on the DC-9, 757, and the airbuses, but on the 747 and the DC-10, that's a NO-NO)

Frontier (It's the flying zoo, come on!)

Cathay Pacific (Very elegant, and MUCH BETTER than their old livery)

SAA (lookin' good! Big thumbs up)

United (nice color scheme Smile)

There's tons more, but I have a life. I'm not gonna list ALL of them Big grin

was wondering if there was any way AC would stop switching to their new livery. The existing one is just so good.

ANA should also keep their livery. I really like the way ANA mixes their blue and white together. I also agree the AC livery needs to stay this time. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL  Big thumbs up
