Southern California-FRA: Best Fare?

Sun Jan 09, 2005 9:12 am

A friend of mine is going to FRA this summer to visit friends, and he asked me to find out what were some of his flight options. I told him I'd look into it, and so I ask you: what is the lowest fare from Southern California to FRA? He can go from any airport (LAX, SAN, ONT, SNA, etc.) and doesn't mind making a connection but probably prefers non-stop, which would limit his origin airport to LAX. He'd probably fly out in late June, and stay until maybe mid-July or so.

Thank you very much,
Alex

PS. I know I can go to travelocity or expedia but I prefer to ask you guys because I figure you guys know more than the average Joe anyway about this type of thing...

Expedia/etc. is a waste of time for international flights- your friend needs to find an airline consolidator (suggest he does this himself).

My guess is Air India LAX-FRA might end up being the cheapest too early to tell. Perhaps try here: http://www.apc-consolidators.com/rates/specpass.htm

Sometimes the above fares are cheaper than the airline website direct, sometimes not.

I would recommend to contact a Local LAX Indian Consolidator. I am quite sure you should be able to get some good deal on AI!

Hi,

Check out this website: http://www.bt-store.com.

I just booked a R/T e-ticket from LAX-LHR on AC in March for only $324.00. I'm sure they also have good deals to FRA as well.

Hope it helps.

Is that friend of yours also in the 16-20 age bracket that you've listed in your profile? Then it might be worth it to check youth/student travel agencies and/or websites - I know that they (or should I say we - I work for one of them) don't always have very good fares for short stays, but it still might be worth it...
