Europe To Bangkok. Which Airline?

Wed Jan 26, 2005 5:32 am

Maybe a sort of unescessary question but as i'm planning to travel around asia this summer, starting with a flight from Europe to Bangkok. i'd like to know what you guys think is the best airline to fly this route? I'll be flying in economy and as maybe some of you noticed in the LH A380 PTV thread, i really appriceate having PTV in economy so that would be a requirement.

This far i'm aiming to go with Thai, i heard they are getting PTV's installed in their long haul fleet during this year, also heard that they have outstanding service. Plus i've never been on a 747 and hopefully and probably i'd be on one if i fly from CPH, FRA or LHR.

Any more suggestions on good airlines that would stand the competition with Thai in regards of service and PTV aviability?

Thanks for any input.

EK and VS have the best ptv, but neither fly to Scandinavia. If you are from Sweden Finnair would make the fastest connection but then you have to bring your own entertaintement Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Fly to LHR and do it with BA or Qantas - great service and PTV's. Only problem is you have to negotiate LHR - but the rewards are worth it. You could also fly Thai out of LHR.

You also can fly with EVA Air in Premium Economy class to BKK. Eva Air offers good service and good IFE in Evergreen Deluxe Class Just take a flight to AMS and from there EVA to BKK!...Also the prices are quite competitive for Evergreen Deluxe Class.

If you are flying Y, Thai hands down.

I'd check China Airlines business class fares ex-germany or AMS first though, often cheap and they are good.
