What Kind Of Meal Service Do You Get On BA?

Mon Feb 07, 2005 6:55 am

I'm going to fly ARN-LHR-BKK on BA and back on QF between BKK-LHR in a couple of weeks and I'm wondering what kind of meal service you get in economy class. Anyone who has flown these routes and knows how much food you get? Answers are much appreciated  Smile

I have not flown those routes but have flown BA in short/long haul JFK-LHR-SOF

I belive that you should get a small BA-deli snack. Nothing too special.

ON the LHR-BKK in economy you should expect a hot meal (pasta/chicken/beef and maybe a special Asian meal) and 2 Deli type snacks as before.

The food is standart Y food. Nothing too special but cant complain. I wasnt a big fan of the "deli" because it was cold unlike LX who served hot eggs on a RJ flight about 2years ago.

In my one and only experience, they had pretty good meal service. There was always somebody around the cabin - for tea - that you could ask for anything. They had free wine in Y and the meals were fairly large.
Enjoy yout lfight,

Catering on QF and BA is usually very good. Here's a sample international Y class menu from QF:

I haven't done BA to BKK (thank goodness) but I have done QF on the same route. Two meals - a hot meal around midnight (!) and another a couple of hours before landing (around 2pm local time IIRC). But you also get a snack pack for the wee hours - apple, choc bars, cereal bar, water, mints, etc.

On the short sector, you will have the wonderful all day dehli snack box, enjoy!

It will be like a sandwich or toasted ciabatta (something like that) and chocolate bars, yoghurt. Not anything like it used to be, but it's nice all the same,

Expect the "All Day Deli" on BA's short-haul services, pretty nice if you ask me! Big grin

In World Traveller expect the normal "Chicken or Beef" choices, with free drinks/snacks served in between. Around 2 hours prior to landing they normally serve a hot ciabatta/panini.

I find the catering to be very good on BA overall.  Big thumbs up
