I would say VS but since it's not on the list I'll go with United (UA)  Smile

Airgeek said UA. Did he back it up? No.

Well if you're gonna get all mad about it!..

My fav. is UA because of it's amazing and HUGE worldwide network as well as friendly flight crew and f/a, they also have the channel 9 atc thing which I love. They even run inter-asia routes!  Smile

I am not angry about what you said, but rather about the low quality from the original poster.

Hey!

Emirates has to be up there near the top, as well as Singapore. Good quality product, good aircraft, normally friendly staff. Id have to say United should be up there as well, yea they have their problems, what airlines dont, pretty good crew almost everytime ive flown with them. Enjoyed all my flights with them.

Hey Airfly,

Personally I find your question to be somewhat reasonable. You are asking a legitimate question, that asks out of these number of airlines which one is your favorite. I see no problem....

Quoting Airfly (Thread starter):
British Airways
Lufthansa
Alitalia
Airfrance
United
AA

To choose: United. United Airlines is a poorly managed airline that is still hanging in there and trying to wiggle out of some tough situations. They are also doing a phenomenal job in refurbishing their "look". They have experienced staff (amazing in F class), a huge route network and perfect planes to fit the job -- Airbus for short-haul, Boeing for medium-haul and Boeing for long-haul.

I have also flown on Lufthansa two times and find them to be well managed with friendly service. British Airways I have flown on once and can't recall the trip, since I was young. I have heard amazing things about British Airways though, and bet if I had traveled on them more frequently, they would have been my vote.

AA shouldn't even be on that list in my opinion and Air France I don't like.

Alitalia is very good to.

Honorable mentions should also go out to SI and EK as the poster above reviewed. These airlines are constantly winning accolades and making there passengers happy on every flight. There are other airlines that could be considered for the list but we would be getting into something a bit subjective and, not to mention, we'd be here for a long time!

Welcome to A.Net Airfly!!

Thanks,

BA, QF and Asian airlines in general deserve considerations...

SQ, EVA, JL, etc.

Very legitimate thread, IMHO. It must have been discussed a billion times, but isn't that the point ? And that may help airlines avoid resting on their laurels...

Just my two cents.

Cheers,

WY.

Are you kidding me? You think the airline execs come here to read what 13 year olds have to say about their favorite airlines? Give me a break.

Ok, don't take offense, mate.

I was merely suggesting that people talking and expressing their opinions can, at some point, get the attention of airlines' employees... I am sure that A.netters do talk about their passion outside of A.net, at airports, during flights, even at work, at the movies, the metro, wherever...

Plus, given the significant number of F/As, engineers, pilots, etc. that browse A.net, is it completely unreasonable to expect that they will pay even remotely attention to what is said here ?

In technocratic language, that's called economic intelligence, gathering data, opinions, thoughts, reports, etc.

Personally, if I worked for the airlines (and I wish I did), I would pay VERY close attention to what A.netters think of my company. And, even crazier, I would report it to my colleagues who might be able to adjust company policy to take into account what is said here.

Respect ratings can be helpful (I did not say decisive) in this regard.

And there is an old popular saying in France that goes along the following : truth comes out of children mouths. I do care about what a 13-year-old aviation enthusiast has to say about any given airlines he/she's flown.

Once again, no offense, my friend !  Smile

I am not taking offense to this at all, Wunalayann.

The problem is that there is no data being gathered here(for the most part). People just say I like______________, with no reasoning

You would honestly want to adjust your company towards people who are 13 years old? That is not a very good age bracket to gathey your information. If you really wanted to gather information and real opinions from people, it would help to go to a site where people are actually elites of airlines, and note just dreamers, a website which I will not name. It is simply that this question has been ask 632,126.73 times, and it serves no real purpose.

For Pete's sake, BRAVO7E7, Airfly is a young student who happens to like aviation as much as you do! If you don't like his thread, why not just read the next one (one that seems to be worth it for you), and give Lucca a break! Ridiculing a.net members is not a nice trait, you know...

Cheers
micha

And Lucca: I'd say BA is my favourite, followed my UA and AA

But doesn't it partially help people to make decisions ? If you had the choice between two companies, with comparable fares and schedule, wouldn't you try to fly the one you like better ? The reasons why you like a company better than its competitors should be of interest for the employees (executives, technicians, whoever) of all parties concerned. Well, at least, that's how I see it from a business stand-point.  Wink

Well, for the sake of my better understanding of aviation, I would be grateful if you could actually name said website.
Plus, I really don't see (perhaps I'm blind) why the opinions expressed on A.net couldn't be "real". Of course there are people who just rant and vent, but most of the posts on this thread seem constructive, and as well argumented as can be for subjective impressions.  bigthumbsup

I may very well be wrong, but I don't think Bravo7E7 was trying to be sarcastic. He was mentionning the question, more than the person who asked it.

Still, credits to you ZKEOJ for coming to the rescue of Airfly !  Smile

Cheers,

Y.

I don't think so. It would be nice if the motives for liking the airlines were mentioned. If it is not mentioned, for all I know, he might like the airline because they have Barny on the IFE, or because they have the MD11, or something, with which I may disagree.

Us 13-15 year olds have the right to form and express their opinions just as the older ones do. We may not have the same experience, vocabulary or knowledge as those of you other frequent flyers but we are old enough to make constructive criticism or ask relevant questions without expecting to get blatantly picked on because of our age.

If those of you who find themselves to knowledgeable or to good for us younger enthusiasts, then don't read our posts and please refrain from grunting at how "un-educated" we are of the aviation world.

I appreciate your question Airfly and hope you enjoy your time while on A.Net without having to worry about that bombarding member who posted some degrading message directed to your age in your thought provoking thread!

I can understand when 16 plus members are upset with a stupid thread but this...

Thanks,

I would have to say that my favorite airline that I've flown would have to be KLM. Through the years they have been top notch. I have had experience flying other airlines, notibly, Northwest, Delta, Continental, USAir, Aeroflot, CSA, and Spirit. I like KLM's service and friendliness the most.
