Perth - Cocos Islands

Fri Mar 18, 2005 4:55 am

Just a quick one:

I want to go travelling to Cocos Islands (south of indonesia, nw of aus) out of Perth.

has anyone been there? is it difficult to get onto a flight there, or is preference given to residents? also, how has the events after the tsunami affected things? the cocos islands were right in the direct path.

I believe flights are operated by National Jet Systems on a Monday and a Thursday via Learmonth and Christmas Island, using Avro RJ70's.

The Islands website makes no mention of the Tsunami, check it out at

www.cocos-tourism.cc/index.htm

Hope this helps

Andy

Both optimists and pessimists contribute to the society. The optimist invents the aeroplane, the pessimist the parachute

Correct - flights operate twice a week...

** AMADEUS - TN ** CCK COCOS ISLANDS.CC 01APR05 08AP
1 NC 106 4 PER I CCK 0945 1400 1 17FEB05 27OCT05 AR7 5:45
2 NC 108 1 PER I CCK 0945 1520 2 04OCT04 24OCT05 AR7 7:05

either PER-LEA-CCK-XCH or PER-LEA-XCH-CCK. Flights are open for sale to the whole world, but seat availability for non-local traffic might be limited. Any QF office or Amadeus travel agent can book them for you.
