My absolute fav is an Air Canada Douglas DC-8 (hence my user name ACDC8), it was the very first plane I flew on flying from DUS or FRA (not sure which one) to YYZ back in '74!

But in the modern day I'd have to say:
1. Airbus
2. A340
3. Air Canada and Lufthansa

I'll second that! The Q-400 is an experience to be had! Jets, especially large jets, are in the spotlight too often. Long live the props!

Um, even though I'll take the DeHavilland as no. 1, I would jump at the chance to ride a 727 again

It close between 772, 744, 752, and 739 (have only flown a few airbuses), but has to go to the:

Boeing
744 double aisle and 752 single aisle

British Airways 744
American (soon), United, British Airways 752

Who doesn't love the 744 and the power of the flying power is a terrific feeling.

Boeing
747-400
British Airways ( I hope to fly soon)

I think the 747 is the most gracefully a/c flying now and has a certain prestige because of it changed aviation and it's long time around.
