Best Business Class Product?!

Sun Apr 10, 2005 11:50 am

I just saw some pictures of Virgin, Emirates and Lufthansa's business and first classes. They are pretty comfortable looking. I would like feedback on some of ya'lls experience's on any airlines business/first class and what you liked about it?

Personally I find the BA products in Business and First really rather good, and so I stick to them rather than hop about (damn loyalty schemes!). Now the seats are having a second mini overhaul they are looking a little more fresh.

VS appears to have a lot of fans although I am yet to try it, and same with SQ F.

The VS business product (Upper Class) is good and the seats are nice and wide, however, I'm not keen on the side panels which seem too plastic.

The BA business product with the current updates is still one of the best. The new cushion in the seats makes it very nice. The BA First product is way above most.

QF also has good business and first class products.

The best I've flown are:

Business Class:

QF and BA; SQ (long haul version)

First:

CX, QF and BA

Generally, Asia Pacific and UK carriers have the best products and service levels. You can now add Middle Eastern ones, with EK and QR rating very highly. American and some European carriers are very second rate in premium cabins in comparison .
When all's said and done, there'll be more said than done.

Best Business I have flown :

Short -haul : SR / LX - LH - SN
Long - haul : SQ - CX - SR / LX - EK - QR
Special mention for the deeply missed Sabena, with 60 inches of
legroom on their A330-200s

Best First : SR / LX. I will never forget a ZRH - MIA on their MD-11

I would really like to try out the Emirates first class. You get like your own little compartment/"suite" thing.. which I think would be pretty awesome. One might get a little closterphobic, though.

LX new business isn't too either, but LH has won my vote...LX's first class product, however, is simply outstanding...

Lufthansa's new Biz class is great. BA's is to short for me. Virgins is extremely nice and you get major benefits before and after the flights.

That picture you originally posted of EK is their first not their biz class section.

My vote goes to BA for long haul and CX for short haul, both products are simply great.

Ok I have a question about those two kind of "SKYBEDS" that seem to kindof slope down.. I've seen many of those on various airlines of all sorts in business/first classes. My question is this: Wouldn't you like slide down the bed or whatever you wanted to call it when it's in "sleep" position?

Based on my experience, yes. I find these "flat beds" at an angle very uncomfortable, because I tend to have the feeling of slide down. Fortunately, it is only 6 foot long, so your feet can stabalize you against the bed

Not unless you're wearing one of those super low friction skiing suits. Wink No, you don't slide down in ordinary clothes (but what's ordinary these days??).

Depends on the ANGLE: QF, SQ: No problem. CX, AF(I predict): yes
