I have a list on my computer, and it's up to 209. Hoever, I've only noted registration numbers over the last year or so. Wish I had done that sooner!

Nope, don't have a complete list.
It's pretty hard to get one if you were flying around a lot as a young child.
Heck, I can't even get all airlines or routes together!

Same here JGPH, and many of my flights were military so it's not easy to trace them. But I do know 99% of the regestrations! Up to 350+ flights so far.

I don't have a logbook, though that's a superb idea, but I think I can pretty much remember all routes I've travelled from the top of my head, though I flew quite a bit as a youngster, so I'm sure there will be some omissions. All I obviously won't remember are exact dates and flight numbers, so here's my brief and boring list.
Well, growing up in Sao Paulo with family in Rio, I flew countless times in the good ole Electras, so those don't really count.

I have so many that logging them now will be a ridiculously long task. I do howver have every boarding pass I've ever been issued. They are in a big box now.

RE: Complete List Of Your Flights: Do You Have It?

I was bored out of my mind invigilating an exam in the mid 80s ('proctoring' to those of you in the US) and tried to see if I could remember all of the commercial flights I'd ever done. It wasn't hard as the number was only 30 or 40 but I had to go back over twenty years. I got them all (from my first BEA Viscount) though a handful of the dates could only be narrowed down to the month. Shortly afterwards I had the coincidence of being assigned the same seat on the same plane on two successive flights (an SR A310 LHR-ZRH-LHR) and that prompted me to start recording the registrations of each plane. (Which is why I know, inter alia, that I've flown on at least four planes which have subsequently crashed.) Engines, flight numbers, go-arounds, etc.,etc. soon followed and I quickly became quite obsessive about it - AND exasperated at those early flights (like two Laker SkyTrain DC-10s, my one and only SR DC-9 or my two Pan Am 747s) where I will never know which plane I was on.

And where am I now? My list (also on Excel) shows 629 commercial flights on 69 airlines (many of which no longer exist - BUA, Piedmont, Balair...) into and/or out of 123 airports in 40 countries on most (but certainly not all) of the types that have flown commercially over the past two decades.

There is nothing nicer than having tickets sitting at home and in the next nine days I'll take my total to 635 flights (DAR-ZRH-MIA-NAS-MIA-ZRH-DAR on LX and AA) - though, sadly, no new airports or airlines and, possibly, no 'new' planes either.

In the context of HIV/AIDS, political violence all over the planet, global warming, etc., etc. does any of this remotely matter? Of course not but it's a mostly harmless pastime. I couldn't care less about football or baseball or cricket. But it gives me great (and to my friends, utterly inexplicable) pleasure to discover that I'm about to board, say, the only LX RJ100 that I've not yet flown on.

And, before someone spoils this innocent thread, this isn't a competitive thing. Our lives and our jobs will give each of us various opportunities to fly and we will all enjoy whatever flights we're lucky enough to have. Some people on A.Net fly almost daily for a living. (Sometimes I envy you but mostly I don't.) Some will do no more than a handful of flights a year. But younger A.Net members have lots more ahead of them than I have behind me and some of you will be flying on the successor to the 787 long after others of us are dead. Enjoy them all!

I do!!

The earliest flights list only the planes with their destinations, as well as any comments about anything I can remember about the flight.

Example: December, 1974 BFL-LAX United 727-100 Entry via rear stairs.

Later flights included flight numbers (if I remembered them).

Example: August, 1987

LAX-JFK TWA Flight 840 747
EWR-LAX UA Flight 11 DC-10

When examples of both of those planes crashed (Flight #232 and #800), I decided to keep the registrations of all further planes. I have always wondered if my flights on that trip were on those ill-fated aircraft.

Fortunately, the only thing that has happened to any plane I've flown on since was a United 777 making an emergency landing at Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada.

Yes, I have a list with all my 298 flights, unfortunately I am missing the registrations of some planes I flew on as a kid.

Yes - all 329 flights in a database, with all types of statistical queries in there as well (up to, and including, a calculation of how many times I've travelled around the earth and how many times between the earth and the moon)... yes, I like statistics... yes, when I did all that, I had too much time...  Wink

Yes I do!
I will not take the time to post though, because the totals are:
945 flight segments, through 115 different airports, on 54 different airlines, for a total of 767,986 miles.

I only flew twice before age 16, so I could easily remember all my flights when I started the list.

Since my parents started taking my on flights when I was little, I wasn't able to run my own list at that time yet.

Nowadays I travel by plane 10 or even more times a year, so the number of fights already exceeds 100.

RE: Complete List Of Your Flights: Do You Have It?

Mon Apr 18, 2005 11:35 pm

I have a log on a friends website that list my flights since 2002 (the capability of his logging system) and I did manage to guesstimate I had flown 234,000 miles. However I did lots more flying when I was younger espeically mid-teenage/late teenage years and I can't remember how many times I had flown to certain airports which doesn't help things.

As for military flights....bah they don't count!  Wink I didn't do many (probably about 50) but can't remember much of the details. Could probably dig out my old logbook.

Quoting JetBlue (Reply 1):
Hoever, I've only noted registration numbers over the last year or so. Wish I had done that sooner!

same...wish I had started it earlier...

Quoting PM (Reply 9):
I couldn't care less about football or baseball or cricket. But it gives me great (and to my friends, utterly inexplicable) pleasure to discover that I'm about to board, say, the only LX RJ100 that I've not yet flown on.

I wholeheartedly agree... Smile (Never came up with the idea doing such things while invigilating exams...I'll keep it in mind  Wink

And to the actual question: Yes, I do. I could recover most of the flight numbers and seats, because I kept most boarding passes. Some registrations I got from pictures I took. More recently, I logged all regos and seats where possible. The list has 280 segments, of many airlines (lots are not any more...), on all 5 continents. You can see it at http://www.geocities.com/micha_nzl

I've got a big list with the a/c type; airline; route; registration; special remarks (such as BA's World images, etc.) It's got all my trips since my first flight in 1974.

I don't keep track of which date or seat number, and I've only started keeping the reg. since 2000.

I also try to get a picture of all the a/c as well.

Cheers,

Yes, I have. Only 29 flights. But in excel form, so I can't post it here without editing too much, maybe later when I have more time.

I am currently working on an updated list of my flights. I made about 200 flights since 1978 as passenger on commercial airliners, plus about 1500 flights working as Operations Officer in Spain between January 2002 and January 2004.

this thread is testament that people have way more time on their hands than I ever would...or patience for that matter.  Smile I'm up around 550-600 segments, traveling on 6 continents.

Most travelled. AUS-DFW, DFW-IAH, IAH-AUS.
Most enjoyable. LAX-AUS, MEM-AMS, LHR-JNB.

Regards.

I have a list in Excel, 87 separate flights, 89 take offs and landings. I have 6 lined up in the next few months, so approaching my century! Perhaps that will earn me an upgrade  Wink

For info, I've flown on 737s (all types) 21 times, A32Xs 10 times, and 777s 9 times.

No, I don't have a complete list. I've been flying since I was 2 years old. I've flown JFK/EWR-FRA 24 times (I have family near FRA).
That is about half of the flights I've taken in my life.

Quoting BosCollJetBlue (Reply 32):

I guess it's because you track everything of your flight...plus, it is the thrill to try not to fly on the same plane again, if it has to be the same type/airline combination. Or to see if you have indeed been on the same a/c again. Or look at the thread about "ill fated a/c you have seen" - you can identify those....many reasons. It's like collecting anything else!  wave

I have a list...currently at 260 segments so too long to post...thanks to my mom's meticulous record-keeping, I was able to track down the flights I took as a youngin before I really cared about aviation too much, though there are still a few inconsistencies and missing pieces of data that I have yet to work out...

The airliners.net survey prompted me to work out how many flights I had taken. Initially I had thought over a 100 but then I decided I should work it out.

I don't have a complete list with registrations but I do have a list of the segments, I worked it out to about 104, give or take a few.
Why fly non stop when you can connect
