So Is The A380 Photogenic?

Mon Apr 18, 2005 7:07 am

Hi guys,

With the recent flow of A380 photos & the maiden flight just days away, what do you think about the super jumbo in terms of photography? Do you think she's photogenic? From what perspective would you like to shoot this plane?

To me she still looks a bit odd, especially with those bended wings. Yet I can't wait to see the first air-to-air shot. So Mr. Bailey, Mr. Triplet et al.—hold your cameras ready.  bigthumbsup

I'm still undecided. I like engineering and humanity's achievements, so of course I think it's something special, and would love to see it.

I still thing it's ugly though.

Cheers

Hi all

Yes it's photogenic.

Just think..........short finals for LHR's runway 27R, wheels dangling and the camera zoomed in for a nice close up.

Don't think a.net will have any problems filling up the database with photos of it either..  Smile

A'd say absolutely yes!

A quarter front shot on rotation or approach would be fenomenal!

Oh dear, I have to be a meany and say no, I think it's ugly.

However, I have no doubt the prediction of the database being loaded with pics once it's flying will be right. Perhaps it will grow on me.

Mind you, in a nice colour scheme I suppose it might look slightly better. Not sure who's though.

I'll just go and find an air raid shelter before the flak starts.  duck

This is the kind of ugly only a mother can love... but it is a noteworthy plane and will no doubt be photographed from every conceivable angle. Only the best of which will make it past the A.net censors.
It's been swell, but the swelling has gone down.

Sure it's ugly, but yet it is a great achievement of Airbus.
We should be more concerned with what a great aircraft it is
instead of being focused on how it looks.

i said exactly the same thing and got hammered for saying it! it is ugly and it does nothing for me, just looks like a huge sore thumb but i recognise it as a piece of marvellous engineering.

no need to worry, i give as good as i get! still doesn't appeal to me at all, can't wait to fly in it but i don't have to like its appearance!
lets face it, it's not an MD11 so it'll never be 100% photogenic.

I guess they'd better stick to the interior shots and
talk about how good they are.

I am interested in that last part of your profile, could you elaborate? Big grin

I said its ugly, I didn't say I didn't like it. I think technically, if it all works, it will be a marvelous thing. I just don't like it's looks. And I certainly don't think it's photgenic or aesthetic.

I also think that there are far too many pictures of it on the database already but hey, I just have trouble getting ANY pictures on!  crowded
