First= Emirates first on the A345
Business= SQ/LH new c class.
Economy= Hard there, Emirates is very good, but then it's 10 abreast on their 777's, so probably SQ again, 9 abreast, ptv's, good service, nice pitch.

Cheers, Konstantin G.

NO I have actually flown many airlines thank you very much, just with the MRTC I see no Airline that compares to AA in the US Domestic Market. When AA nolonger has the MRTC which is coming soon, I will have a difference of opinion.

If you are talking about a Domestic Market, specify it. It was ANCFlyer who was reffering to the US Domestic Market, not you!

Besides United Airlines knock the s**t out of American anyway!

Yes, only if other people thought like you then United would be ahead of American in the number of people that fly the airline.

Fools, VS doesn't even have a First Class!

I can't be bothered to answer this for the eleventy-millionth time in the six months I've been here!

Listen Airlinerfreak (nice name)!

American Airlines probably does have a higher passenger turnover rate because they are a bigger airline with more planes than United. Surely the more resources a company has, i.e planes, will facilitate the number of customers it can provide a product/ service for. So naturally American Airlines would fly more passengers than other Airlines.

Besides lil man, this was a Forum regarding quality of product, specifically First Class. Why a minor like yourself knows so much about First Class bewilders me. Must be generous parents or your gift of the gab at check- in with the upgrades! lol  Wink

Well their upper class suite is more than equivalent to any other airlines First Class.

Upper class - First Class
Premium Econ. - Business

That's even how it's listed for travel agents!

Their equivalent would be sufficient. Apparently, everyone knew what was being discussed, and only one of us here had to ruin the thread by being an ass. . . . any guesses?

Then those travel agents are crettins! Any travel agent that claims less than 40" pitch is a longhaul business product should not be a travel agent...

Not for my travel agent! The prices for Virgin Upper Class are, broadly speaking, in line with business class fares and not first class fares.

The Upper Class product of VS is definitely in the C class market. They compete with the C fares of most international carriers, but specifically compete with airlines like BA, LH (new), SQ, QF, EK and other airlines with C seats that are either lie-flat seats or suites. Many people confuse the Upper Class product as being an F product, as they are suites and the forward cabin of each international aircraft.

To answer the question:

Best F: EK's first cabin looks excellent although I've read in a trip report here that their service wasn't too great.

Best C: VS with the 70"+ seat pitch.. However, I really don't like how the seats face away from the windows and you end up facing your neighbors directly, which doesn't really help for privacy.

Best Y+: UA's Y+ and BA's WTP.

Best Y: Hard one, they all seem to be the same cruddy pitch but SQ, VS and QF have nice entertainment options

Virgin's Upper Class Seat is, in my mind, a C Class product, while their UCS is a First-Class product...at least in as much as you have your virtual cabin in First, while in C you have a comfortable seat with another one right next to you.

I have NEVER been in First Class, but Utopia for me would be to experience BA's First. In fact I intend on doing this in June.

I have been in a few business classes though...BA, AA, UA, VS Seat, SR, ME...
PARIS, FRANCE...THE BEIRUT OF EUROPE.

Always had fantastic experiences with them. Great service in any class, great food, safe, and on time.

The Upper Class Suite is definitely a business class seat and is marketed as such. Yes, the unique configuration makes it seem a bit more like first class, but the fact is, it's a J seat, in line with other business class prices. Also, how many first class cabins do you know that have over 40 seats? While the layout may be more like F, the overall personal space and large number of fellow passengers means that it could never be as such. And I think it's good that VS don't have a first class. By only offering a J/W/Y product they are able to focus on their business class product and offer services that aren't available for most business classes.

As for Premium Economy being like anyone's business class? No! There's a reason it's called Premium Economy. Unless you consider business to being a seat with 37" of legroom, marginally more seat recline that economy, and the same meal service as economy (with the added bonus of a welcome drink).

I'm not being hard on VS, I'm just stating that Virgin do not have a first class and the UCS should not be considered as such, nor should Premium Economy be considered business.

Now, with that said having never flown first I'll just go with what I've seen for First.

1. BA
2. Emirates
3. Singapore

FBGDavidson is right - any travel agent that tells me that VS PE is a business class product deserves to be shot!

UCS is a great J product, but it is not F.

My votes for best F would be

EK on the 345
SQ
BA

in no particular order.

EK's First is beautifaul from the passengers standpoint. But to me, from an FA's stadpoint, I think it's a bit "hoekie". With all the doors closed, it looks to me like some people have pitched a tent in the cabin of an airliner. Just doesn't look right.

Asthetically, I think SQ and BA First look the best.

Not in the UK. Upper Class is sold and ticketed as business class, and Premium Economy as an enhanced economy cabin.

Even though I am a huge fan of VS and Sir Richard, I am slightly annoyed by the fact that the Upper Class Suites are positioned pointing towards the aisle, and thus hampering one's view.

As for my favourite first cabin, SQ tops at the moment. I dying to try EK and Malaysian's new F cabins!

Cheers
