Alitalia Milan-Delhi

Tue May 10, 2005 9:16 pm

Does anyone have experience going business class on Alitalia from Milan to Delhi? I'll be flying in business class on Alitalia for the first time. I'll start my Alitalia business class experience from JFK on the 777-200, which I heard is really good, but from Milan Alitalia uses an old B767. Wanted to know if they upgraded the business class seats and stuff in the B767. The Alitalia website is not very helpful unless your flying in the 777-200.

thanks

I'm a pretty regular passenger on AZ's 763s in "Magnifica Class". All of the 763s have been reconfigured to 2-1-2 now away from the awful old 2-2-2 "Coral Class" config on the ex-Eurofly planes.

The seats are comfortable but basic. No PTVs and often not even audio entertainment that works. Movies on the main screen.

Food service is exceptional but that has always been Alitalia's strong point. Crew largely depend on the temperament on the day but I've never had a particularly bad experience.

Economy is not half as nice but is also quite adequate.

Thanks for the information. Nice to know the business class seats are good along with the food service. Maybe one day Alitalia will had PTV on the 767's in "Magnifica Class" for long haul flights. I'm not traveling on Alitalia till Feb 2006 had to do advance booking with skyteam do to limited amount of seats for award travel into India.

The website shows the MD-11 for Bombay and the 767 for Delhi. You would think that Alitalia would use there 777's for the India routes as most airlines from Europe like AF, KLM, BA, and Lufthansa fly 747's.

I usually fly United/Emirates into Delhi and got spoiled by the PTV system and now with Alitalia not having the PTV system in business class on the 767 or the MD-11 will have to find something to do since it is a day flight leaving MPX.

I'm from New Friends Colony in Delhi..
