Dude I am really sorry to disappoint you but they suck. Their F/A's are rude, their food sucks, you have to pay for water, the 747 is the oldest in the fleet and you will really notice that.

Hold your breath big guy

You will be flying a B747-400, ethier TF-AMA or TF-AMB, Iberia's two B747-400s. Iberia currently has 5 B747s in their fleet
1 B747-200
2 B747-300
2 B747-400

On the B747-400s they have PTVs.

I have never flown on Iberias B747-400s but I will be in July.

I enjoy Iberias service, not everyone does.

You should revice nice service on the MAD-TFN and TFN-MAD route.

Here is a link to a trip report, a very good one, that IBERIA747 posted.

I hope you enjoy your flight!

I think you will enjoy your trip with Iberia Matt, I fly on them a lot and wish people would stop complaining about them. Yes, their planes could do with a clean and for an airline that is making such a huge profit as they are, it would be nice to get a meal on short haul services, but nearly all of my flights have been on time, FA's are polite and helpful (ok, there is the occasional exception like any airline) and I have arrived safely with myself and luggage in tact.

Their new website has also made it a lot easier to book flights with them, but you have to be careful. Last night I was booking flights for my grandparents between LGW and MAH, IB quoted £316 on their website for a round trip, but the very same flight booked through the BA website was just £114 return. Also, if you select the timings to fly on Air Nostrum aircraft the seats are much nicer, even if it is a CRJ. Have a good trip, don't forget to do a trip report Wink

In european flights they are ok. On longhaul flights they are showing their limits, I used to fly with them to south america due to the low fares they offer. During these night flights the f/a do their work and when the dinner is finished they just seems to disapear until the next day...

From my little experience with them. They aren't that bad. Flew them two years ago TFN-MAD-TFN to be on the 747 and A 340-600. Riding IB's 743 And A346 On TFN-MAD-TFN (by Jorge1812 May 26 2004 in Trip Reports)

Food was good, and it was a domestic flight anf the F/A's were a bit old and not that charming, but only paid 100 Euro.

Airplanes are dirty, out and inside. Food in domestic flights are not served, even a sweet in economy class.
F/A tent to be a bit rude and you notice that when you take any other non Iberia flight ( and if you travel abroad you think Iberia's cabin crew have a mental problem.. And I've flown with other companies like Finnair, Air Berlin, LTU, Monarch, British Caledonian, KLM..)

All the best

Does it also count for the flights to the canarys (the route he will take)? Other Spanish airlines don't serve food too, e.g. Air Europa.

Don't set your expectations high then you won't be disappointed. Who else have you flown with so we can give you some idea? I've flown IB domestically half a dozen or so times in the last six months and compared to BA (my preferred carrier) the service was pretty poor, even in business class. One drinks round and a snack, then the crew disappeared into the galley. It's not rocket science keeping people happy on ultra-shorthaul, especially when all you have to do is keep offering the odd drink!

Try telling that to someone who has paid £6500 for a ticket in First   Having said that, I believe your comment sums up the airliners.net mentality to flying pretty well.

No idea about the Canary Islands. I live in Mallorca and fly to BCN or MAD normally.
Yes, you are right but can't compare Iberia to the others.. Sorry to say this but IB cabin crew is well known in Spain for his lack of attendance. Of course this is a personal opinion....

Better than 'attendance' I'd say 'kindness'.
Excuses for this poor english I speak..
