"Boeing" Or The Other Guys?

Tue May 17, 2005 10:35 am

AAHhh...Do you prefer Boeing or Airbus, and why?..I will be the first to say Boeing gets my vote hands down...
1.They look better
2.Easier to work on
3.They are made in the USA

We can get technical if we want to...
Have fun

I like both.  Smile

Although Boeing does go back quite a while back further in history, as well as it is a US company.  Smile

I agree with Uaalltheway, I like both as well. They both build great a/c but, I do prefer Airbus somewhat more. Sorry Seattle.

I like both. If we were playing "Death Is Not An Option" and I had to choose one, though, I'd have to say Boeing.  Silly

Of course, if we're speaking historically, then we're talking Lockheed...all the way...

Boeing if I had to pick...there's just something about the way the 757 throws you back in your seat. As far as the rest of the aircraft, I couldn't care less. It's all about the same experience. They just fly a little different.

While I normally don't care what I fly on, if I'd have to decide, I'd say Airbus... and here are my reasons for that:
1. They look better (sorry for copying that line  Wink)
2. Quieter interior (esp. A340)
3. Better comfort (wider seats on 3-3, 2-4-2 better than 2-5-2 or 3-3-3)
4. Better interior lighting systems (the normal light is not 'yellowish' as on Boeings, but much whiter - some don't like it, I do; and that dimming-system for longhauls is brilliant!

As for where the planes are built? I really couldn't care less - while I don't mind that they're built in Europe, I'd prefer them even if they were built somewhere else.

But, in general, I prefer the plane that gives me the better seat at a good price - if it says Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, McDD, Tupolev or anything else on the outside is, at best, secondary.

Regards,
Frank

Airbus!!!! because they are better looking, very comfortable, made in Europe and I enjoy flying on them.
I love the A330, A340 and even the A320

I like both, don't make me choose...

Give me a Douglas-built aircraft anyday. Then I'll take a Lockheed plane next.
Let not get into another useless A versus B war. There's no point to it. Regards.

If I had to choose, I would go for Airbus
Reasons-

-Better looking
-More Comfortable
-Uses Computer Systems, which are more advanced than on any Boeing
-Quieter Cabin
-Wider Seats
-Brings Countries together
-Born in Europe
-Aer Lingus are mostly Airbus

Sinnce last Saturday I´m voting for the MD-11! What a great plane to fly on Big grin

To answer the question: I think that both manufacturers build great planes that aren´t too far from being perfect. I sincerely hope that Airbus and Boeing will be around for a very long time because this unique kind of competition is what keeps the overall quality of airplanes at this incredibly high level.
