I will fly Virgin Atlantic in June!

I picked them mostly because of the fare... and the Inflight Entertaiment + A346 unbeateble (for me)  Wink

Best Regards
I am willing to pay extra for a A346 flight !

BA in business class due to fully flat bed (VS also has this).
All others are a far second in business.

I second BA. They are a good airline, I'm just not a fan of the VS gimmickery....

BA food...only got J class

I recommend you VS, BA or AF. All brings a great product. As well as LH.

You will never be disappointed with them.

None give you your money's worth - transatlantic premium class fares are simply absurd - just remember that for an $8K roundtrip fare you are subsidizing quite a few leisure travelers.

The best premium product by far is BA Club World on the upper deck on a 747 if you are a frequent business traveler and like discreet service. A close second is First on BA in the front of the 747, followed by First on LH. After that First on any 777 or 330/340 - the upper deck or 747 'nose' cabin experience is quite unique.

KLM and SQ were competent experiences transatlantic - nothing more or less. AI which had won awards as best transatlantic carrier in the 60's is not bad in First on a good day.

The ultimate way transatlantic of course was Concorde, at which AF was just a bit better than BA - 'je ne sais quoi' contributing to the magical flying experience.

In summary, like most flying experiences, the cabin crew on any given day is what counts. The 747 is the best plane for premium passengers because of the unique Upper Deck and Forward cabin exclusivity. Avoid flying biz in a T7 as the engine rumble will drive you up the wall on a long flight.

All said IMHO.

Cheers

How do you work that one out? Business better than First?  Confused

Fbgdavidson,

BA service is top-notch across all classes, so it becomes a question of which seat and where in the plane do you want to sit. 2+2 on the upper deck (roomy, quiet), in my very humble opinion, is just a great place to be. Granted that the First seats are slightly more comfortable, the food and wine is slightly better, perhaps not everybody would agree with me.

Long ago, before there were pod seats and First was a lot more social, and you had the full Trolley service, well, First was far superior to Biz.

Cheers

I am quite familiar with the Club World service, and am also fan of the upstairs.  Wink Particularly based on the fact I am yet to have small children seated up there  thumbsup  This was opposed to my flights on the 777 where a small howling child seems to keep the whole flying youth hostel awake  Sad

Having said that I just wouldn't turn down an upgrade to First.

Are you a 62K or 64K man?

I havent flown BA in several years, i shall have to try them out the next time i cross the Atlantic, the only reason why i was using LH was because they had service to ANKARA , for BA i would have to jet over to IST

VS
BA
LH
UA*
KL
AF

*I took UA from JFK-LHR-JFK and the service was great, got a 763, and an overall EXCELLENT experience. I loved it but I don't know how everything else was. (And this was in Coach so I guess the upper classes were great to).
UA seems to have a better international product then the domestic (still god though).

Iv flown VS, DL and UA across the pond and I have to say I like flying UA the most. I loved channel 9 and the food was superb. The FA's were also very helpful and talkative. I also love going on the 777 too.

VS is also very good, I just think the service is so inconsistant, sometimes get FA's who are brilliant, other times they can be so rude. I also find VS very expensive nowadays (got quoted £800 to fly LGW-MCO-LGW in August, chose DL instead for £370 via ATL).

No it is BA all the way! Don't pinch BA's advertising slogans as well as their top destinations!

Sadly I did not fall for all the gimmickery of VS and their cabin crew sadly came across as amateurs as they tried to be comedians on my last VS flight.

I too have experienced this, left me and alot of fellow passengers quite annoyed because after a while it wasn't funny. I may of seen the funny side more if they were doing their job properly at the time.
I find with VS, you get an excellent crew who will do anything to help, or a crew who just can't be bothered.
