Ryanair The Best LCC In Europe

Wed Jun 01, 2005 8:11 pm

This is my first thread on A.net. I have just joined but have been viewing the forums for a while now. No doubt this will bug a few people but here goes.

I have flown Ryanair several times now and have never been let down by the service received. Every flight ontime(normally early), no lost bags, no rude staff. I have just booked a flight with them to Eindhoven next month for about £33.00 all in. As a person of limited income, they have opened up the sky's of Europe to my family and I to travel. When booking I always check other flights and travel options and compare the final costs(travel to and from both departure and arrival airport, food costs on board). For a similar flight to eindhoven, the cheapest I could find was £310.00 on KLM. You may get the frills with KLM but look how much it costs extra.Including travel to the airports etc I will save over £200 by going ryanair. Only 2 times I have found an option with another airline cheaper. Once was with easyjet last year, and we had an hour and a half delay and rude, lazy staff at Luton. The rudeness would normally go over my head but this is a charge often laid at Ryanair feet. The second time is a flight with Jet2 later this month so I will see if they are any better. A close friend has recently flown Jet2, she arrived home safely but her bag did not.

To sumarise my opinion I like ryanair for what they do, reliable and safe travel for people who cannot afford the high fares on the major/flag/legacy carriers.

Pe@rson - is that you ?  Smile

I'm glad you've enjoyed FR so far - I just hope you don't ever experience the joys of FR "customer service" if something were to wrong i.e. "P!ss off, you're on your own !"

FR suck. Fortunately living where I do, I am spare the hideous indignity of having to travel on them.

Then ignore it, don't comment on it.

I've only done 4 flights with Ryanair, all of them on the '200's, which were in pretty poor condition. I found their cabin crew came across like they didn't really want to be there, although they were by no means un-helpful. Having said that, my last Ryanair flights were probably one of the last times I'll get to fly on an old 737-200, and the fact I paid £27.29 return LBA-DUB means I can't really complain  sly

I prefer other LCCs. Don't like their far-away airports (like using Nyköping as Stockholm or Hahn as Frankfurt). The tips I have done however were ok, on time and cheap.
