Which One Of NY-area Runways Do You Prefer?

Fri Jun 03, 2005 11:38 pm

The New York area have if we count JFK, LGA and EWR a total of 18 runway numbers. The question is simple. Which one do you prefer when it comes to take-offs and landings? Please motivate.

For landings: 1. EWR 22L (if the weather is good) because of the Manhattan view. 2. LGA 31 because of the cool visual approach. 3. JFK 13L, always wanted to try the famous canarsie approach.

Take-offs: JFK 31L because of the tight left turn right after take-off.

Is LGA 31 the westerly one for landing ? (if I can manage basic geometry I should be able to work it out). The approach to that, in a big circle over Manhattan, is astonishing !
