Paris Airshow...in Retrospect

Sun Jun 19, 2005 12:08 pm

I didn't see any other threads about the Paris Airshow after the fact, other than something about Elbonia (??) and the absence of toilets. So what did you all think? My thougths:

*Best commercial flight display was the A340-600

*The A380 flight display reminded me of a fat chick doing ballet

*Best military flight display was the Sukhoi

*Getting to/from the show from the RER B station might possibly have been the 9th ring of hell

*Wasn't really sure why a Air Tahiti Nui A340-300E was there?? I was told it was their first 300E but so what? Not that it wasn't pretty...but when you put it next to a 777 it's kinda silly Wink

*Why did QR have their own chalet?

The Sukhoi "cobra" was certainly entertaining. Surely the A380 was impressive

Impressive, yes. Nimble and sprite, no.

I needed a quiet moment to myself after seeing those...

I also liked the A 318 and the A 380 displays. The A 380 was very impressive, it was approximately 10 meters above me during short-final and I couldn't believe how incredible quiet this big plane was.

It was actually ok, Sean and I walked to the show and in the afternoon we took a bus because we were coincidentally at the bus stop when the bus stopped. I never rode in a bus together with so many people but it was ok because the ride was quite short.

I was also wondering why it was there but it was the first time that I saw TN's beautiful livery in real.

I was a bit dissapointed the Boeing had no flight display but all in all was it a great show, I enjoyed the day very much! See the following thread for pictures from the A.net meeting: Paris 2005 MEGA Meet, See the Pictures! (by FlyAUA Jun 20 2005 in Non Aviation)
