Quoting FlyMIA (Reply 6):
North America - American

It terms of coverage, possibly. But in terms of service and coverage they fall below United. That's from good and bad experiences with both airlines.

Quoting VS747SPUR (Reply 7):
Europe - Virgin Atlantic

No way. There coverage is very limited and there service, I've heard, can be quite questionable.

Quoting RCS763AV (Reply 8):

There netowk does not suck. Before making my decisions I viewed both airlines route network. They faired up pretty well and Varig has a larger fleet (I think) so I choose Varig.

Thanks.

RG international:

LAN international:

How does RG's coverage suck compared to LANs? And don't forget RG's massive domestic network:

Note: Domestic route map may be a bit outdated. Different colors represents RG's now incorporated subsidiaries

As happy as I am to see SAA getting so many votes of confidence, I wonder about picking SAA as best carrier to Africa. From all destinations except the USA SAA have only 2 ports of entry in the African continent and they are both in South Africa; there is a lot more to Africa than this! By all accounts Kenya Airways and Egyptair are good African airlines too, and many other excellent airlines fly to this country, not to mention the rest of the continent. Every day you can drive past JNB and see BA, VS, EK, AF, LH, KL, QF, SQ..... SAA has lots of competition!
After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

First, those maps are worng, they do not show LA service either to MAD or FRA:.

Im saying RG´s network sucks b/c no one flying from the Us or Europe to countries like Peru, Colombia, Venezuela or Ecuador would use GRU, while LAN has hubs in UIO, GYE and LIM which are more central and atleast cover 2 of the countries, plus SCL but that is a bad location too.

I posted two images, maybe you can't see one of them. But FRA/MAD/AKL/SYD service are there. Including the Islands.

The second image has two views of the globe. One is from a polar view that shows Antartica and NZ/Australia and the other one shows part of S. America/West Africa/Europe.

Ok, but then nobody flying to the rest of the continent would really use LIM/UIO/GYE.

We have to look at this with relativity. Nobody really has a great route map in the region IMHO. LAN has a nice Andean network but lack on the international. RG flies to every country in SA except Suriname, the Guyanas and Ecuador (Bolivia has been temporarily suspended to local political situation) and has a pretty extensive international network.

However, one thing I do agree is that RG does not connect the rest of the continent to other Brazilian cities and that is really unfortunate IMO.

Maybe because their market is not between countries like Peru, Colombia, Venezuela or Ecuador to the US or Europe because of obvious geographic location.

And By the way i wouldn´t put Varig as the best in LatAm ever.

LAN, TAM and maybe others are for sure better options, but anyway a great route network.

I'm confused. AA in S.A.? Is an U.S. carrier, NOT a Southamerican one. Maybe I misunderstand the "to" of the thread title as an "of".

That got me if its TO each region that to me means, whose the best carrier Asia-US, now if it was IN each region then to me it would be like what everyone has been doing.
