The Best Airline Magazine?

Fri Jul 29, 2005 7:55 am

I'am planning to get subscribed to an Airline related magazine,
there will be a lot of A.netters around who may give me an opinion on what there favorite magazine is and why!

a pilot magazine I have, but not an industry observant!

Everything interests me, trends, reports and off course some numbers and results too!

I love to read UK based Airlinerworld!
Can you convince me of another, better magazine?
What time is top of descent?

The 3 regulars I usually buy: Airliners, Airways Magazine and Airliner World. Of those, I find Airways Magazine to be a lil bit more current because it's a monthly, Airliners comes out I think every other month or some thing like that. I can't always find AirlinerWorld each time, but I buy it when I do come across it.

Airliners is one of my personal favorites, but they don't have new issues except for every other month or something like that, as N276AASTT states. Airways is also very good- and comes out monthly. Either one of those is awesome.  Smile

Personally, I like Airliner World. They've got lots of great articles on airports, airlines and aircraft. Fantastic pictures and the news section in the first half is very informative. I used to collect Airways, but I have found them to become a bit repetitive and I don't like David C. Forward's style of writing (my apologies to him if he's a member, nothing personal). Rick Drury doesn't write for them either since he's retired and his articles were worth the price alone.

Apart form "Airways" I also hold a subsription of British magazine "Aircrafts Illustrated" published by Ian Allan publishing (quite a well-known name for magazines and books about transport in the U.K. - they also run some dedicted stores within the U.K.) - but this one has seen a slight increase in its military section recently, but still well worth its price due to the very large collection of Air Show dates (and previews / reviews of it).

Airways, I like the layout very much. I never have seemed to like Airliners, it isn't frequent enough. Airways has nice sections like Biz and Economy flyer, and always has interesting articles. I sometimes get Airliner World, but I can never find it sometimes, and I prefer Airways.

I agree with ACDC8 and it is also fun spotting the spelling mistakes.. Wink

Airline Business is the best magazine I read. Monthly from the same people who produce Flight International and ATI on the net. The best source of information to understand the overall business environment of the airline industry. along with Air Transport World it is probably the most respected and used magazine by people in the industry

Not such a spotters mag though, and not something you can pick up off the newsagents shelves.

Funny how Airliner World has done articles on JetMagic, Duo and EUJet just before they each went out of business....

Airliner World is great. Before I discovered it I was mainly reading Airliners or Airways.

Same here! The perculiar person that I am, I have very little interest in military aviation, so AirlinerWorld is perfect for me!
