Your Ideal Round-the-World Trip

Wed Aug 03, 2005 12:42 pm

I know that usually you fly with an alliance working out the price for an around-the-world trip. However, what would be your ideal round-the-world trip with NO backtracking, and in whatever class of service you'd like?

1- PHX-LAX UA First (duh)
2- LAX-SIN SIA 744 (w/ stop, I want first) in First
3- SIN-HKG CX First
4- HKG-FRA LH First
5- FRA-LHR BA First
6- LHR-Dubai Emirates First
7- Dubai-New York Emirates First (Newark?)
8- New York-Santiago First (Primera)
9- Santiago-Mexico City (First)
10- Mexico City - DFW American First
11- DFW-PHX American First

Quoting Airbus3801 (Thread starter):

4- HKG-FRA LH First
5- FRA-LHR BA First
6- LHR-Dubai Emirates First
7- Dubai-New York Emirates First (Newark?)

A tiny bit of backtracking there!! Not the same cities, but slightly the wrong direction....

In the interests of the a.net corporate travel budget, if you re-submitted your itinerary but accepted the routing

HKG-DXB EK
DXB-FRA LH
FRA-LHR BA or maybe Hahn - Stansted on Ryanair? (only joking!)
LHR-JFK BA.....

we'd even throw in the best hotel accommodation, for free!  Wink

It´s much simpler for me:

Any good route westbound (!) from Germany with not too much stops (figure around 5-6 w/o transfers) covering Brazil, Hawaii, New Zealand and maybe South Africa flown in Business Class on *A.

Alternative would be to go from Hawaii directly to Japan, Korea and then head home.

All those usual spots like BKK, SIN, HKG and the U.S. I would skip out as RTW-stops as they are too easy to reach for me (and reachable at reasonable prices).
