I'm Flying HA From PDX-HNL - What To Expect?

Thu Aug 04, 2005 4:14 pm

Hello,

On August 8th I will be flying on a Hawaiian Airlines 767-300 from PDX-HNL. I was wondering what to expect as far as food and IFE goes. I don't know yet which seat I'm sitting in, but I will be flying coach, and the PDX-HNL flight is a morning, but the HNL-PDX is a dinner flight.,

Thanks in advance
Anthony

They have digEplayers available for rent for $10. If you aren't familiar with them, they're a handheld unit with tons of movies, tv shows, music, etc.... and you control what and when you want to watch stuff! It's a great little entertainment device! Your other option is to pay $5 for the headphones- and watch the movie on the big screen. The choice is yours!

Have a good flight and enjoy Honolulu!

You are probably on HA25 PDX-HNL (0845-1120) and HA26 HNL-PDX (1320-2140). Menu can be found here: http://www.hawaiianairlines.com/about/services/menus.asp but can change. Food is ok, but I found better on CO. But at least it is still a full complimentary meal service rather than snack boxes, buy-on-board or nothing at all that I have found on other carriers.

The digEplayers are quite neat, but some people question the value of spending $10 for them. With the majority of my flights on HA, i'd rather plug in my MP3 player or laptop than go for the digEplayer, unless i'm really in the mood to rent one.

What to expect? Great service, a decent hot meal and the digEplayers. I did not see any on my flight to/from PDX in early July. Of course, I could not have been paying attention during the announcement.

If your aircraft # is 580-583, you'll have cloth seats. 584-586 are former LTU 763s, and if you have seats in rows 16 or 23, no window, but seats are leather. 587-593 have the 777-type interior with cloth seats.

Hope this helps ...  Smile
