You know.... I have a new theory about AF service.
The comments I hear on this website about AF are generally positive -- great service, good food, etc etc. People seem to really like AF on a.net. Then, I have my friends/relatives, who all despise AF as the worst airline in the world. Yes, I'm not exaggerating here -- some of them actually said so in so many words (my sister included, who regularly flies to Paris on J). Why is that?
My theory is that AF is racist -- or at least implicitly so. I just attended a wedding in Nice, where a lot of guests flew through Paris and AF to get to. Many of them flew business, and I have to say all the ones I talked to who are Asian had a bad experience and generally dislike AF -- rude, unhelpful, etc. Many of them have used AF before, but since you're going to Nice, options are limited. They didn't book on the cheapest ticket either, so I think that eliminates the class issue.
For the longest time I had trouble reconciling that extreme negative outlook of AF service with the nice comments I see here on a.net, and I think it must be the skin colour of the flyers that is making the difference.
If any of you here is non caucasian and loves AF, I'd like to know.
