Non-revving To IST On Turkish Or DL

Mon Oct 03, 2005 6:33 am

I am trying to non-rev to IST from JFK in around late October. Are the flights full? Any insight from DL or TK employees would be helpful. I've tried LH before and barely made it back, although their employees were very nice. Thanks!

most of the flight out from IST by JFK are fully booked, can you advice the date of your departure by e-mail to me boeing777@netvigator.com

Can't speak specifically for JFK-IST, but generally I found non-reving to IST more difficult than on other routes, forecasts are less predictable due to changing no-show patterns and sometimes higher overbooking. However I noticed that TK tends to overbook less than let's say LH.

Istanbul is one of my favorite cities in the world. Getting there on Delta is always a major challenge. Our flight are nearly always 100% full every day.

I have better luck on Air France.
Tired of airline bankruptcies....EA/PA/TW and finally DL.

A little bit of a strong statement. While DL does experience periods of flights being repeatedly oversold, things overall are not that bad...

For instance here were the DL loads factors on the route for 2004.

In regard to DL IST-JFK flights for the end of October it does not help that the flights dont operate on the 25/27/29, but the 31st looks the best loadwise followed by the 30th. The remaining days are at or near capacity.
