What does NC stand for? Not a trick question, just want to know what you think of first.

Wasn't that the original US designation before a standard N- number?

NC = USA, standard.

I remember it from pictures of old Pan Am etc aircraft.

Looking it up, NR = USA, restricted / NL = USA, limited / NX - USA, experimental.

I do quite enjoy a spot of flying - more so when it's not in Economy!
