Your Booked/Planned Flights For Next Year?

Thu Dec 15, 2005 1:00 am

The year 2005 will be over soon so let's see what trips/flights you guys have planned for the next year. My list is (still) rather short.

Booked flights:

  • DUS-ZRH-DUS on LX/EW in January to attend the ZRH A.net winter meeting

  • Planned flights:

  • Ghana Int. Airlines' inaugural flight to DUS, I really hope that a certain A.netter can make this possible  Wink

  • An UAE/Iran trip in March or April to get the Saha Air 707, the Iran Air Tours Tu-154 and other nice aircraft types (this trip depends on the situation in Iran)

  • That's all for now, let's see your plans or booked flights.

On January 1st I'm flying LHR-IAD-RIC on BA WT+ and UA but only the one booked trip so far...

-Taking my girlfriend to South Africa for the first time in February, IAD-LHR-CPT-LHR-IAD in UA Business and BA First.

-Also probably going to her families reunion in July in SEA, so that looks like to be JFK-SEA-JFK on AA, possibly First, possibly coach. We are doing it over a weekend so making it as less stressful and as comfortable as possible, but it is $275 in coach vs $1300 in First...

-Then the obligatory trips back to see the parents in the UK every few months, probably BA Club World or WT+, IAD-LHR-IAD...better the devil you know  Wink

Nothing special planned yet... next year will begin with a couple of hops between FRA, ZRH and VIE for the first one or two months - so it'll just be the same as the last few months have been...

Other than that, nothing's planned yet.

December 25-31 SEA-SFO-AKL-CHC on Air New Zealand BusinessPremier
Planning on attending my mother's 50th birthday party down there.

April 1-10 ORD-FRA-Prague/Istanbul/St. Petersburg in Lufthansa First Class
Visiting Europe to spend some time with my father who I rarely see nowadays

Lots of short trips between home, work and school meaning RFD, IND and SEA. Probably a trip or so to see the parent's place near LAX. Also maybe a trip or two with friends. And of course some travelling for work and business reasons. Likely a few trips to ORD and I have no idea where else.

    Booked flights for next year;

    12 Jan BHX-DUB Ryanair
    12 Jan DUB-BHX Ryanair
(Day trip to research and photograph the Dublin riverfront).

    20 Jan BHX-AMS-ZRH KLM
    22 Jan ZRH-AMS-BHX KLM
    (A.net Zurich Meet).

    Planned flights (Just waiting to book now);

    26 Jan BHX-DUB Ryanair
    26 Jan DUB-BRS Ryanair
    26 Jan BRS-PLH Air Southwest
(Down from Uni for my semester break).

    28 Jan PLH-BRS Air Southwest
    28 Jan BRS-AMS KLM
    28 Jan AMS-JFK KLM
    29 Jan JFK-AMS KLM
    30 Jan AMS-BRS KLM
    30 Jan BRS-PLH Air Southwest
(Shopping trip for some lens's to New York).

    4 Feb PLH-BRS Air Southwest
    4 Feb BRS-DUB Ryanair
    4 Feb DUB-BHX Ryanair
    (Return to Uni).

It's amazing that taking a total of 6 flights to get a return from Birmingham back home to Plymouth is only £25 more expensive than a return on Virgin trains - and that's with a Railcard, without one the price would be near £80! The trip to New York is just for a bit of fun, buy a new lens (or two) and celebrate my Birthday commencing mid Atlantic on the return from JFK!

    May
    AKL-LAX-MIA-SEA/YVR-ANC-SFO-AKL - I doubt it'll change much from that

    October-November
This one I haven't worked out which way to do it really, but probably something like this.
    AKL-PER-JNB-NBO-JNB-SYD-AKL
    The other options
    AKL-SYD-BKK-DXB-NBO/EBB rtn EK
    AKL-NZ-LHR-KY-NBO or LHR-FRA-LH-KHT-ADD-ET-NBO
A Full RTW ticket probably 34,000 or 39,000 (dependant on the date SA/Swiss joins Star completely.)
Flown to 120 Airports in 44 Countries on 73 Operators. Visited 55 Countries and counting. Wanderlust is like Syphilis, once you have the itch it's too late for treatment.

Well, all best plans and all that................

Supposed to fly to BRU in three weeks but the usual tickets not forthcoming at the mo due to the busy period etc. etc. May do BAH-IST-BRU-IST-BAH with the mad Turks or maybe BAH-LHR with Goof Air then LHR-BRU-LHR with SN Brussels. Will see what the company gets me.

Then a week later BAH-DOH-XJD-BAH followed by BAH-RUH-JED-BAH a week after that. Then a month off flying (in sha'allah) before a BAH-DXB-BAH and then shortly after a BAH-BPM-LHE-KHI-BAH. I've also got to get to KDH before March!!!!!!

Well that's the plan but i imagine it'll all go tits before Christmas. santahat
