Adria Airways- What They Like?

Sun Jan 15, 2006 9:55 am

I was wondering what Adria Airways are like in terms of an airline? comfort, food, safety, service

I have to fly them from Ljubljana to London Gatwick.

What aircraft do they use?

What is their overall Safety record like?

Thanks in advance!

When they flew into LHR they used A320's, I think they now use A320's and CRJ-200's for LGW. I am afraid that is all I know.
When in doubt give it a clout

I have flown on Adria approx. 6 times on the FRA-VIE run (all operated by CRJ-200s). Crews were very friendly (always two flight attendants on board = hosts in the true meaning of the word), all flights were on time, cabins were very clean and well-kept. Catering was pretty basic, but of good quality - and the food was served on trays (albeit small ones). I was very impressed by their high - and consistent standards.

Happy flying

I flew with them also quite often, though never on the CRJ. Basically, I can confirm what Aviaction said, and in all my flights with them (13 I think) I've never had a bad, or even mediocre for that matter, experience (except not being allowed up to the flight deck  Sad). The only thing that I really didn't like is the seat pitch on the A320, but then again, I'm 1.9 m, so I don't fit comfortably on most airliners. Overall, they're very punctual and the biggest delay I've had was 20 minutes.

I have flown on Adria many times both on CRJ and A320.
They are not bad but far away from excellent. Route VIE-FRA is one they try very hard as it brings a lot of money and the competition is really hard.

My experience is that you can compare them to LH in every possible way.
Crew not exactly overwhelmed, many delays especially on LGW route (that is a route I used primarily), A320 bit worn out, CRJ200 very nice.
Catering is quite basic indeed but considering their prices I would say it is great (baugette, coffee or tea, drink service). Especially on LJU-LGW-LJU they are trying to be kind of low cost/legacy carrier hybrid because they have competition (EZY).

If you fly on Airbus try to get seat up to row 10 as seat pitch is much better (1-8 - 36'; 9-10 - 33', 11-13 - 31' and then 30'). On CRJ200 it is all the same 30' with maybe 1' more in the overwing exit.
(Business class config really depends on the day, so may be sitting in row 5 when flying economy on A320)

I also did their VIE-FRA link many times and always considered this link as a very comfortable alternative to OS and LH. Nice atmosphere on board and a reliable and professional service.

Dont know about their other routes though.
