UA Or CO?

Thu Jan 26, 2006 9:49 pm

My planning for this summer is to fly to NYC, drive to Washington, fly to Miami, drive to Orlando and fly back home to AMS.
I found 2 fares:
with UA: AMS - (LHR) - JFK, MCO - (IAD) - AMS and with AA IAD - MIA
with CO: AMS - EWR, IAD - (EWR) - MIA, MCO - (IAH) - AMS

UA and AA is like 100 euro's cheaper than CO, but I was just wondering which would be a better option.

Do you participate to some FF program? Which one?

Stick with CO the whole way - you'll have less connections and you won't have to deal with the possible problems that come with being on different airlines on the same itinerary.

And connecting in EWR is a piece of cake.

Flying Blue and Asia Miles.

I was just thinking the same thing, but I'd like to fly multiple airlines as well, since I've never flown any of those.

Since I've looked on seatguru and read some reviews about CO, I think that's the best option I have.

One other thing - why would you fly through IAH from MCO on the way home to AMS? It's totally out of the way, especially when you could just connect through EWR. Another thing - try a flight from DCA instead of IAD to EWR - you can take the Metro right to DCA rather than have to deal with a taxi or bus to get out to Dulles from the DC city center.

I got a 'Dream Holiday Vacation Cheque' which I'll be using this summer, it starts in Miami and ends in MCO, that's why  Wink

I figured that out later, forgot about my Flying Dutchman/Flying Blue membership, since I'm usually flying to CGK on my holidays, for my family.

I think you're missing my point - you can still fly out of MCO and connect in EWR instead of IAH, and it's much less out of the way than an IAH connection.

Time of arrival with the IAH flight is much more convenient than the EWR one for our friends to catch us at the airport to bring us home.

Would definitely pay the extra money and take the CO flights for your holiday. It'll get you miles on your program as well! Enjoy the trip!  Smile
