Best Seat On Embraer 145

Tue Jan 31, 2006 2:45 pm

I will be flying American Eagle DFW-GSO next month, and want to know what the best seat is. 1A looks good, but it has no underseat or overseat storage. All of the A seats look good, but none really look better than the others.

Are there any good seats on an Embraer 145?

1A is the best, if you are lucky, some flight attendants will put your bag in the crew storage area, and if you don't need to access your carry on too much it isn't really a problem.

When i flew last week on Swiss ERJ 145 all passngers with big bags had to hand them to the cabin crew beofre boarding the plane (at the stairs)... and stored in the cargo hold... they will give them back to you before you leave the plane

I just flew tpa-buf all on the ERJ 145. Great A/C. They are my favorites. 1A by far is the best! Navairjax is right. If you cannot get your carry on with the crew stowage on board, you can put in it in the overhead diagonally across and behind you. That is what I did and there was plenty of room. People were very respectful at allowing me to get my carry on first to get off the plane. It isn't really a big deal! 1A all the way! Enjoy!

Yes I agree with 1A however if you can't get that try row 12, the emergency row exit with lots more leg room....I know on COEX that row is reserved for Platinum Elite folks but if you're not that level if you check in online 24 hours ahead of the flight that row is available to move your seat to if they are still available......12A is a great seat! Enjoy

I like 1A the most followed by the em.exit row but any other seat will do nicely. The ERJ -145 is a small aircraft with BIG windows. They rock - esp when the aircraft banks.

I love to fly on the ERJ's. Only disadvantage-limited bagage space. I was in row 14A, my hand luggage in row 12's overhead bin and my laptop was strapped to seat 10A during my CDG-LUX flight yesterday.

Boarding process can be messy esp when some people don't read their seat numbers and you find somebody sitting in your seat + and everybody has to get up again and go to their assigned place.( I offered the lady to stay in my seat and that I could take hers instead but she wouldn't hear of it at any time + insisted on getting to her right seat causing quite some hubbub in the narrow cabin).

i think its the seat you have in the terminal. They even give you head room there...
Where are you going?

There is no such thing as a good seat on a 145. Horrid little  airplane  for use as an airliner.

Now outfit that thing with seating for 12 on comfy sofas and loungers and the picture changes drastically.

Hopefully the CRJ-700 and -900 will be better!

I've flown on a US 145 twice in seat 1A and the only complaint was it can get very cold sitting by the forward door. From now on I plan to choose 2A or 3A to keep my feet from freezing.

1A is great as it is a little unique. When I flew UA Express last month I was pre-assigned 1A and had a large laptop bag and a large shopping bag. No problems with taking both on board but the FA said she'd keep them in the closet, which was basically across from me in the galley. The seat has more legroom than any of the others but as you mention no overhead or underseat space. As it happened the FA said it'd be best to move back to a pair of seats so I took her up on her offer.

I'd also recommend 12A for anything more than a short hop. I've been able to get this seat on BA CitiExpress flights a few times with no problems and it has a little extra legroom which iss most welcome but be aware the armrest is a little shorter on the left side.

I'd say that 16A is one of the better seats. Gives a great view of the wing and cabin.

Hi

Check out http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Ame...ican_Airlines_Embraer_ERJ-145.php.

This site gives great reviews on lots of different A/C, with several different Airlines.

Seat Guru states that probably the best seat on an American 145 is seat 12B.
