Long Layover At Montréal: Much To Do?

Fri Feb 03, 2006 6:35 am

Working out a trip to the east coast, and one option is to layover in Montreal from 8AM till 3PM. What's there to do around Dorval? Any spotting areas available within walking/transit distance? Alternative is to take 4 flights to get to my destination, which can be better than vegging out, but want to avoid 2x CRJs - would have done it if it involved the E75 (which is btw the option on the return)

Also, what's Air Canada's policy these days in terms of taking an earlier flight to your destination if seats are available?

On the domestic side, there is absolutely nothing to see after security. One lousy magazine store and a restaurant and that is it. Transborder side is brand new and much nicer but really not a whole lot to do or see for that length of time. With AC on certain fare types you may standby for an earlier flight on the same route. There is a parking lot off of 55 Ave that has good views of one of the main runways but it is not easily accessible from the terminal. I am afraid you might just be a bit bored!
