I have an interesting view on VS
. When my wife and I were dating, she was a flight attendent with KA
at the time. She worked the NBO - LHR
flight fairly often. We spent a week in London together, and then I had booked a flight to the U.S. for the both of us, and then a return for her back to London. On my flight from IAD
to London it was a very comfortable flight even though I was in economy. You cannot complain to much about economy regardless. It was nice, and for the most part the FAs were attentive, if a bit snotty.
Then the return when we were traveling together, from London to JFK
, was a completely diffrent story. This flight was on a clapped out B742 which was supposed to have been a B744. The aircraft was relatively dirty and had a fairly nasty oder through out. The FAs were far less attentive on this flight then they had been on the previous. One (my wife says she is Nigerian based on her accent) was downright rude and ended up yelling at several passengers (including 2 small children around 6 years of age). She was extremely rude and unprofessional. I spoke to the senior FA
on board, and she told us flat that I was being too sensitive. Being too sensitive, when the lady she yelled at was in tears? My wife (fiancee at the time) being a FA
herself was completely shocked at her rude behavior.
Dreading the return trip, I was able to upgrade her to Premium Economy. Even in that class, she told me that the flight back was less than enjoyable. She said that she felt slighted because of her background. She said that she was not given the same amount of attention then the rest of the folks in Permium Economy. She said that she was passed several times for beverages, and ended up going to the galley herself to get a bottle of water. For someone who has paid for a "premium" service, this isn't at all right.
I have heard plenty of good things about VS
, and that is why I booked with them because I had never flown with them. With the exception of the first flight, I was very disappointed. The provided service was far less then the reputation of VS
would indicate. My wife and I are not going to be booking with them again. I sent Mr. Branson a letter relating our experiances with VS
to him. We didn't ask for anything in return, but were expecting some sort of reply out of corperate courtesy as we were paying customers. We recieved nothing.
