I have a question for you seasoned mechanics out there. Which do you prefer to work with as far as skin repairs, polished skin or painted? Are there issues with the polishing process eventually wearing through the clad on older a/c? I've only dealt with painted a/c, so I don't have a good comparison basis. From an engineer's point of view, I would feel more comfortable designing a repair for painted skin since I know that corrosion protection is being applied. What do you guys with experience on both finishes think?
