Which Airline To Paris From Orlando?

Wed Mar 08, 2006 10:18 pm

Hi fellow a.netters!
This summer will be a busy one for me. I will be going to Auckland, New Zealand first, then I will be going to Paris. going to AKL, I have already decided on UA connecting in LAX on to QF. I have to complain to you about this that ever since UA left AKL, the connecting time at LAX from MCO is so bad since I have to wait a whole day for my flight both on QF and NZ!
Anyway, going to Paris, I was on NW from MCO-DTW-CDG and return, and they were okay. But now I am not sure what to take. I was looking at Air Canada connecting in Toronto, DL/AF connecting in ATL or CVG (and I'll make sure to get the AF equiptment on the long-haul sector). But I have also found something very interesting, Icelandair! Icelandair flies from SFB. I'm very interested in trying this airline. How are their 757s and their service? How's connecting in Iceland? I'm still deciding on them since I'm not sure what it wil be like sitting in a 757 for a long time unless their 757s are really nice and have great service. I'm thinking that I might find it better in a wide-body from the US or Canada!
What do you think? Thanks.

I meant last year I was on NW to Paris, but for this summer I'm not sure what to take.

Not being picky but it actually flies from Orlando International (MCO)
If you dont mind hoping to all those airports why dont you take Virgin to either Manchester or London Gatwick to then connect to Paris. You are a bit restricted on what you fly from the US direct to Paris , but from orlando you could fly Virgin or BA to the UK. If you really want to try some different aircraft and airlines you could fly charter from Orlando Sanford to most UK airports with Monarch, My Travel, Thomas Cook, ThomsonFly(Britannia), Excel,

Actually, Icelandair switched to SFB on March 27. All British charter flights into SFB can only be reserved from the UK as these are IN-bound charter flights. Icelandair News (www.icelandair.com)

Icelandair to Fly from Sanford International Airport
Beginning March 27, 2006, Icelandair will fly from Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) in Florida, rather than Orlando International Airport (MCO). We’ll continue to operate our winter flights from Orlando International Airport (MCO) until then.

Connecting in Iceland is the way to go. Passport control is done at Keflavik, so when you get to CDG, simply collect your bags and go through Customs.

It takes a little longer, but it's so worth it.

I think that your most convenient options, if you want to connect within the US, would be either CO through EWR or DL through ATL. DTW is really out-of-the-way for a connection to Europe, as would be a connection in DFW, IAH, or ORD.

You could fly MCO-MIA (on AA) and then shoot over MIA-CDG on AF.

In the US I would take either CO with EWR as your stop or AA with MIA as your stop. I would do it no other way.
Icelandair sounds pretty good to, but you sure you want to be on a 757 that long? I think CO with EWR or AA with MIA is your best choice.
