Nothing wrong with that at all. When I travel, I always choose odd or circuitous itineraries if it means traveling on a new airline/aircraft or visiting a new airport.
Two weeks ago, I went to Milan for a long weekend... I could have taken the nonstop Alitalia ORD
flight, or flown a simple ORD
on American and British Airways, but instead I flew ORD
, traveling on American, SN
Brussels, Swiss and British Airways. Much more interesting, and I got to fly the ARJ-100 for the first time!
Back when I used to fly Southwest more frequently, I always tried to schedule myself on multi-stop routes. For a simple trip from Dallas to Los Angeles, I flew DAL
. For a Chicago to Raleigh/Durham visit, I flew MDW
No shame in trying to fly a certain aircraft - I think everyone on this site understands.
