Doesn't look so bad to me! Anyway, no idea about in flight service.
Take a look at http://www.aeroflot.ru/eng/company.asp?ob_no=741&p_no=2025
There's a seat map of SU
's IL96 there:
First class is indeed 2-2-2, biz is 2-4-2, and economy is 3-3-3.
However, out of 11 flights that I made with SU
's IL96, I can tell you that SU
used the first cabin for biz passengers on three flights, thereby freeing up the biz cabin for economy seats. That's probably the reason why the photographer in Budapest claims that the 2-2-2 is business, since there's obviously no need for a first class between SVO
I did make one flight with SU
when I booked myself on business class because it was supposed to be in the first cabin, but SU
made a last minute change and put all biz passengers in the real biz cabin, thereby angering a lot of the passengers.
If you do end up in the business cabin, it's a total waste of money. The seats are only marginally wider than the economy seats, and the seat pitch only slightly better. My wife actually prefers to fly in the economy section, as you can raise the armrests and lie down flat if there are few passengers. But in the biz cabin, you can't do that.
The seats in the first cabin are quite good, but still far below the major European airlines. I did fly in that cabin once, and the seat pitch is so horrible that if the person in front of you reclines his seat, you can't even keep a laptop on your tray table!
