What Is The Easiest Aircraft To Acquire?

Fri Mar 17, 2006 7:34 am

What do you think is the easiest a/c to acquire in this day and age? I would make a guess at 737's. Think of all the -300's in the desert in America!

What would you say is the easiest "heavy" or longhaul a/c to acquire? Maybe 767's? KLM, EVA are just two examples of airlines who are getting "rid" of 763's.

By the way, I mean relatively newer jets, '80 onwards really, not DC8's and 732, 727's etc.
I came. I saw. I conquered

I'd also guess the 737, probably the -300...

Not a chance on 733's... While there are a few that pop up on the market, mostly through financial portfolio sales, they are not available for long as they are quite easy to place and in very high demand.

To say "easiest to buy" depends on if you are willing to over-pay for the aircraft, especially when considering maintenance needed to put the a/c back into service.

The easiest aircraft to buy would probably be something at the end of it's useful economic life such as a 737-200's, A300-B2/-B4 or any A310. You are even starting to see some A300-600's coming available at cheap prices.
