After long awaited years I'm just about to finish my service in the Navy and taking half a year off on a trip to South America.
My friends and I are getting our trip planned.
It took us long time to establish everything all together and we are certain now on flying to Lima in the begining of May and to return to Israel from EZE in the middle of September.
Now to the 1000$+ question... Whom to fly with.
Most Israelis, when flying to SA, take Iberia.
The reason are that it's the cheapest and they let you change your returning date and destination once for free.
On the other hand now that Air Madrid starts flying to TLV they will offer cheapper fares than IB (though I'm really against flying with them).
I do however miss lots of miles by not taking a combination of LY and another foreign airline, thats why I rather fly with LY or a star allaince member so I collect miles in my "matmid" (LY FF club) or in "miles & more".
I am aware that anything which is not Iberia or Air Madrid might cost more, but if we are not talking about great amount of $$$ I will be glad to take other "helpfuk" airlines.
Can you help? thanx.
