How much of that was UK airport tax?

Just interested, because I always find it rediculously high!

$541.32 with everything included
JFK-NRT-JFK
about $0.04 per mile.

Compare that with $1.50 per mile taking a cab in New York and you can't go wrong. Oh, and did I mention about listening to Ch. 9 too?

£10 per flight for numerous Belfast-Glasgow and Belfast Edinburgh flights when GO, BA and Easyjet were slugging it out on these routes. Easyjet gave free flights away for nearly six months, just charging the £5 tax each way. eventually Easyjet took over GO and BA withdrew from these routes.

I don't know if these count but I flew LHR-AMS-LHR with KLM on work business, business class on the way out, £5 and I didn't pay for it either.

Also got tickets concession tickets for my dad, he flew LHR-BKK-AKL-BKK-LHR with TG £271 with tax and he got an upgrade to business for BKK-AKL.
When in doubt give it a clout

Flew BWI-YYZ-BUF-BWI on US for $114.00.
Granted, it was on a Dash 8, but because we were delayed 2 hours leaving BWI, US gave us all a box lunch.
Can't get that nowadays, at twice the price!

I had a 1$ one-way YYZ-YOW trip with Tango (Air Canada) when they offered special online fares to celebrate their first anniversary.

Just booked a round-trip ROC-SEA ticket with AA for the first week of July. 236.50$ plus taxes. Two stops (ORD and STL) each way required to get the cheaper fare.

May 10, 2006: HP PHX-LAS-MSP A320 for $137.60 including taxes

I paid SEK 150 (approx 21 US dollars) for a youth stand-by with SAS ARN-GOT in 1990.

In 1997 and 1998, immediately after the financial crash in Russia, I made lots of flights which cost around 20 dollars.

$28 DFW-MEM and back on NW back in 1999. AA had launched a fare sale in some NW markets, so NW retaliated. Missed out on the $99 round trip DFW-HNL fares, though  Sad

Taxes were about £19.00, so the whole thing was under £20 for a return ticket. This was on FR..

AUD $29.00 MELBOURNE TO NEWCASTLE; on Jetstar never took the flight.
AUD $54.00 BRISBANE TO NEWCASTLE; on Virgin Blue never took the flight.

AUD $66.00 QF Sydney to Brisbane September 2001, could have booked Ansett for $55.00 but they went broke; lucky I booked with QF for the points.

Tried again Brisbane-Newcastle; on QF May 2005 but had to cancel; got my money back though, still have not flown to Newcastle Airport. NTL.

My cheapest ticket in matters of value/price relation was € 29 for Stuttgart-Gran Canaria on a Condor 757-300 in November 2005 (approx 5 hours flight). Taxes were included, fuel surcharge was not charged at that time.

But the best was:
In december 2005 there was a special offer from a German Tour-Operator called L'TUR in cooperation with AOL, they offered roundtrips for 10 € including taxes to different airports in Spain and Portugal. The flight back was one week later, so that you'd likely book a hotel with them (but you were not obliged).
So I booked a 10 € flight STR-PMI-FAO-PMI-STR with HapagFly and another flight BRE-PMI-FAO-PMI-BRE and combined them using only the inbound and the outbound leg of each ticket making an itinerary STR-PMI-FAO-PMI-BRE for 20 € (all in one day). L'tur offers Rail&Fly for 19 €, which I also booked so that I could get back from BRE to my hometown near Frankfurt, so all in One 39€ for a great daytrip with 4 flights on HapagFly with Food and Snacks as well as a high-speed-train ride from Northern Germany to Frankfurt.

LAX-AMS in Economy Class

Pricewinner!

AMS-CDG-AMS Fl39.95 taxes only(€18.=) on KL in m-class; airmiles ticket
AMS-STN-AMS Fl73,00 taxes only (€33,=) on KL in m-class; pricewinner!

EWR-IAH-PHX ow $103.= on CO in m-class, expedia deal.

Not considering any agent discounts, PEPs etc, my cheapest were

EDI-DUB-EDI on FR for 1.50 return
EDI-BFS-EDI on U2 for 5 pounds return

including taxes they both ended up to be just over 20 pounds return.

Cheapest long-haul was
DUS-YYZ-DUS on CMM. We paid about 299 DM (about 150 Euro) return plus taxes. Was a last minute special they put on the market.

Cheers

16,000 QF FFP (Stepdads) + ℮$61AUD taxes BNE-MKY-ROK last year.

℮$55AUD (taxes inclusive) OOL-SYD on JQ during one of their 200,000 seat sales the taxes exclusive fare was like $9, and it was a Boeing 717 so that was an added bonus.

41,65 Euro roundtrip HHN-MPL-HHN on Ryanair. The ticket price was 2x 0,01 Euro. 20 Euro for a 400nm flight is not bad, is it?
