The EMB-170/175

Thu Apr 06, 2006 4:58 pm

Living in Western U.S, I never see those things. I looked around the web for info. I am really surprised at how big those things are and they are supposed to be regional jets. I looked at the aircraft dimensions from this site and found that the 170 is the size of a 737-200! I never noticed this, I thought they were small jets looking at the photos. The 170 wingspan, though, is 10 feet less than the 732 and it's a little shorter. The size is amizing for a regional jet. What do you guys think of the E-jets.

Compare the guy with the plane:

I personally like them. Although I've never been on one of them, I think they look great.

However, I have received mixed feelings about the interiors (specifically AC)

I flew my first E170 in January. I am thoroughly impressed. I've always preferred the E-Jet to anything coming out of Bombardier, and the 170 definitely beat the CRJ hands down for the passenger.

Clean, sleek, neat looking aircraft.

What route are they flying them out of ANC? Seems like a pretty long trip to anywhere in continental US.

Then again, AC have made plans to fly one of their 175's from YXX to YYZ!

I've flown the 170 with US Airways - MidAtlantic and loved the airplane. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, and who could ever hate the Ejets big windows?

It is definately one of my all time favorite aircraft-- a speedy, powerful, comfortable and quiet ride all in all.

If you have the chance to fly the 170, do it.

Also, the 190 is similarly a very nice ride-- flew it with jetBlue and enjoyed it very much.

Good God I hope you were kidding . . . . .

My trip was ANC-DEN (UA A320), DEN-DSM (UAX E170).

Look at my sig, that says it all. My first was ShuttleAmerica to SLC last year.
Well I believe it all is coming to an end. Oh well, I guess we are gonna pretend.

Hi AirWillie, i never noticed this too. But if we imagine the 732 keep 3-3 seats configuration and the E170 keep 2-2, we realize they need to be closer in size , as 2 seats per row less than the 732 produces the 34 seats difference.

I have yet to see one in person also, however, in every picture I have seen they look so well proportioned. In a sense they remind me of a shrunken 757.
