Simple, Favorite US Airline?

Wed Apr 12, 2006 9:03 am

I am sure this has been posted a million times but I am just curious what everyone's favorite US based airline is.

I think I would have to vote for United. Large route structure, comparable service . . . the clincher CHANNEL 9.

United gets my vote. Looking forward to flying their 777 next month (on a domestic US flight).

Who ever happens to be flying non-stop to where I'm going.
From PHX - US Airways to Southern Cal and points east.
From SFO/IAD - United (widebodies)
Up and down the west coast - Alaska

I have a bunch.. but my absolute favorites are Continental, jetBlue and the new USAirways. All three have always treated me well. Also, after this past weekend, I'm a fan of American Eagle, but still not a fan of mainline.

Mine is Continental, simply because of their service.

But since I'm a Star Alliance FF, I use UA more often (well... they're my second favorite anyway).

Out of Tucson on my way West it is Southwest. They have frequent service at a usually decent price. For longer trips I will use American-often because of price. For example, a need to fly a multi-city in July: SMF-ORD-TUS.
Delta and Continental was over $500.
United's web site was so slow I couldn't get to the fare portion.
American-$437.90 with a nonstop ORD-TUS.

I guess I'll be the first to vote for AA then.

They are my favourite US airline for the following reasons:

1. They go everywhere I want to go.
2. Aircraft that I have flown on (no I haven't been on the AB6 yet) are well kept and I like the blue colour scheme on the inside
3. They fly 757-200s with RB211s and 777s with Trent 800s.
4. They are a member of the oneworld alliance which is important to me as I also fly a lot on British Airways
5. In something like 30 roundtrips or so I have not come across any F/A who was anything but polite, efficient and professional.

Edit: the AA logo I posted was waaay too big.

Delta Air Lines.
While their in flight services might have temporarily gone downward, they still have the best flight attendants in the sky, the most int'l destinations, and soon they will have PTVs at every seat on 200 something a/c!

Delta
I know the service has gone down, but I have never (luckily) had a bad experience on them, in fact all of my flights with them have been above and beyond normal service.

Definitely United Airlines,

- service had been great on all my flights with them
- Channel 9 is just awesome
- I can earn miles since they are in the Star Alliance
- I had the smotthest landing ever on one of their 777  Big grin

cheers,

Of the airlines I've flown so far (Champion, Sun Country, Northwest, America West, Continental, Mesa (HPX), Mesaba (NWX), Continental has been my favorite so far. This weekend I add Delta, Atlantic Southeast (DLX), and Frontier, so we'll see how that goes.

Continental by far...nothing like boarding with the blanket, pillow, and nicely buckled seatbelt in front of you.

1. Continental, b/c of great service and frills not found in the domestic market on other carriers.
2. Delta, but only b/c of Song. they're mainstreaming it into mainline though, right?
3. United, b/c of Ch. 9

My vote goes to Southwest. They are inexpensive, the flights are generally comfortable, I always get the seat I want, and you're gauranteed a flight on a full sized 737 aircraft (not some cramped little RJ). Plus, the livery, IMHO, is beautiful. I know there are alot of WN haters out there, but I have always had an enjoyable experience during the many times I flew with them.

That would be Delta, but NW sure did come thru on our Honeymoon. They refused to take off and fly into a tornado warning, called it mechanical and gave us two free tickets to anywhere and a hotel room.

#1 favorite is usairways.

-never had a bad experience on US.
-always great service
-they fly everywhere that i go
-the only times i had a late flight on US was because of weather
-the dark blue livery is the best livery ever made IMO
-whenever i fly on US, there is always plenty of flights availible and alot of planes to choose from.

Tied at #2 is CO and DL

-CO also has some of the best service
-CO also had some of the best looking FAs ive ever seen
-when we were delayed in CLE for hours in a blizzard, the FAs took great care of us. Also the ground crew in CLE were very helpful
-even though i only flew one r/t flight on CO, and all flights were 738s,they were very comfortable and clean.

-i love DL for their widebody domestic services.
-awesome boeing fleet
-My first widebody flight(764 ATL-FLL-ATL) was a flight to remember
-My first transcon was on DL, where i flew on my first 763(ATL-LAX) and my first 777(LAX-ATL) both flights were awesome..and right ontime.
-ATL has got to be one of the coolest airports ever.
-great southern hospitality from atl based crews

Actually, after my Easter trip, my new fave is DL, but it may be because of the length of the flight. PHX-ATL is now my second-longest flight, and it may be because I had low expectations that were far exceeded. The flight had blankets (I didn't realize these were still around), a nice interior, free snackboxes, and a water service during descent, despite the flight being red-eye. On all of my previous flights on other airlines, there has been no service after the initial beverage/snack service. I know CO is supposed to be great domestically, but I don't remember getting anything more than a small snack, possibly due to the relatively short PHX-IAH leg I was on.

It would have to be all of them, because they have really big fast planes. Now going by what my Dad has told (he flies at least 2 times a mouth) AA and WN are #1 and 2, and CO,DL and UA are tide for 3rd. But if I really had to pick it would be AA and DL. AA because I want to fly for them one day. DL because I just got a job with them  bouncy  and because of the 767 out of LAS.
