No upgrades.
I hate to say it. I mean claustrophobia is bad, the fact that they can be uncomfortable (even though 12A on CO ERJs at least is all right), but it would be wonderful to have the opportunity to get into F. I mean free drinks, bigger seat, better food, all of that.
What now?

Worst part is I love them. Anyway if I had to choose the way at larger airports they are shoved towards the remote parking ramps. They are jets and deserve the jetways not the step-down stairs.

The small lavs in the CRJ-200! (I'm 6'2")

The lavs are not even an option for me. My worst complaint is that I can't even sit up straight without jamming my head into the underside of the overhead compartment. (I'm 6'8".)

Overhead bins are inadequate for most bags.

I just don't like the cramped-ness of them. Too small.

Me wants 777!

AAHHHH, but that's not always correct.

Please frequent United Airlines ExPLUS. . . .

F Seats on those planes. CRJ700s and the E170s.

http://www.airliners.net/discussions/trip_reports/read.main/65569

http://www.airliners.net/discussions/trip_reports/read.main/70848

These trip reports highlight the CRJ700 and the E170s F section.

Without question, the CRJ700's seat 1A is the throne! Sitting upright, legs stretched straight ahead, there's no way to touch the bulkhead . . . not even with a stretch . . . and I'm 6'1".

No beating the E170, in many areas.

Just gotta pick the right RJ for the F cabin.

Also NWs Avros have F - for as long as they'll last.

Also ACs CRJ700, E190 and E175s have F.

Sadly my favorite carrier - CO - has only Y on their ERJs, same with my hometown airline, AS.

The main things for me:

1. Inability to stand in the bathroom without jamming my knees into the edge of the toilet "platform" (best word I can think of)
2. Usually a lack of meal service compared to what would be found on a mainline flight, regardless of length (i.e. an IAH-MSP flight on XJ had only drinks, while a mainline NW flight at the same time would have snack boxes for sale)
3. Cramped window seats
4. Lack of airline magazine on some regional carriers

The things that don't bug me:
1. Small overhead bins (my backpack fits just fine)
2. Occasional lack of a jetbridge
3. Legroom in non-bulkhead seats

Things I actually prefer:
1. Closer to the window from an aisle seat (2x2 seating)
2. Most of them are quite new

As already mentioned by other A.netters:
Too little overhead storage space (recently I had to have my laptop bag plus a purse-size bag before and behind my feet for a 90 minutes - couldn´t move my feet a bit).

The lav´thing: I never bothered to use it on a CRJ/ERJ/Avro yet ...

I had a dinner served on china plates once flying BTS - MUC in C-Class (LH CRJ-100, no special seat-layout) ...

IIRC, I also saw F seats on a CRJ900 operating a HP-flight LAS - LGB in October 2005 - or was this in Feb 2004 on a HP CRJ900 TUS - LAS ?

You haven't flown a Finnair E170, or a pre-BA connect BA erj145. Free sandwiches as well on BA, on a 55 minute flight! Big grin (AY's offering was a pitiful chicken salad, made up for by the free wine)

Neither of the HP / YV CRJ-900 flights I've been on had F seats, but perhaps your flight had been recently transferred from another carrier? It seems strange however, because I was under the impression that HP Express was the first operator of these specific -900s.

Not many complaints here. I like the smaller aircraft becuase you tend to "feel" the flying more (or at least I think so).

Besides, any chance I get to walk on the tarmac to the aircraft I love. Takes me back to a better time in the world of airlines.

I love RJ's in general, although I'n not as much a lover of the CRJ's which seem to have smaller seats. but I've happily done IAD-IAH in an A seat of an EMB-145XR.
