i always fly economy. I'm in college and i cannot afford anything else
Quoting Nwafflyer (Reply 13):
NWA has the best loyalty program out there for domestic flights -- I'm platinum, and if I am not upgraded on a mainline flight, I get 1000 additional miles. that of course doesn't count on the Mesaba RJ's
Quoting Nwafflyer (Reply 15):
lol - I fly about 160 segments a year, well over 100,000 miles -- I do think I deserve the upgrades
Quoting BRAVO7E7 (Reply 17):
Since when has this been a benefit? Is it published?
Quoting Hoppe777 (Reply 30):
So i wanted to fly from LHR to MEL via LAX and it would cost me £702 normally. But to upgrade it would cost me and extra £285 and then 30,000 mileage points just to LAX, its best just to use the miles for other economy flight awards. I am talking about United Airlines and the Star Alliance.

Sorry if I sound dumb, but does joining these frequent flier programs help a lot? Does it make it more affordable to fly business class, etc?
Quoting SW733 (Reply 36):
agree, though, it seems like a ridiculously large number of people on this site fly first class...I cant help but think some of them are lying.

Dont worry, I also do get jealous sometimes, though I am happy with what I get and dont want anything more
Always economy to me
