Best: Breakfast LH SFO
(Economy) in January 2004. I was totally starving by the time breakfast arrived, and for once the airline omelette tasted as good as airline omelette could possibly taste. Juicy and tasteful eggs, delicious mushrooms, hash browns, fresh fruit and coffee. After flying all the way from HNL
this was a truly appreciated meal. Also, the dinner on the same flight roughly 7 hours earlier was also very delicious. I remember it was a pasta dish, and I ate absolutely everything. LH
truly impressed me with their long-haul meals.
Worst: Dinner KLM YVR
(Economy) in April 1992. OK
, so I was only 12 at the time, but I still haven't gotten over the "meal" I was served at this flight 14 years ago. I still have no idea what was served, but it was some kind of mushy thing composed of (probably) meat and vegetables. The whole dish had a sickening brownish color, and the consistency was somewhat like baby food. Come to think of it, I don't think I ever want to know what this was.
Also kudos to SQ
for their dinner on the red eye flight from SIN
that I took in economy three and a half months ago. The dinner was chicken with potatoes in white whine sauce, and although I wasn't as tasteful as the meals I had on LH
, it was nonetheless very satisfactory.
