I'm sure it must happen. Most northerly track I have flown from LHR to IAD took us over the Isle of Man and Belfast and remember the ill-fated Pan Am 103 from LHR to JFK crashed over Lockerbie which is only 75 miles from GLA.

AMS-YUL (KL), flying over the north-east around Newcastle and then Prestwick before heading out over the Atlantic. CDG-YUL with AF, twice heading out over the south coast, and then over Cornwall and Ireland. Once with AF CDG-YUL we flew further north, heading over Wales before crossing the Atlantic.
Returns with KL YUL-AMS flew close to the Manchester region... the online map wasn't so helpful, and cloudy out so couldn't really see fully. With AF YUL-CDG route back to CDG has seemed to come over Oxford area and then Southampton before heading into Paris. Britain early morning with sunrise is quite interesting to see.  Smile
