That's 3 in a row.

Going to Australia this June, flying MH and KL (last leg KUL-AMS on KL, rest on MH) and the only thing I know is that they have the best pitch in Y class around with 34".
I really am looking forward of going to Australia, since it's my first time going Down Under.

So was thinking how Y class service is at MH in their 744 and T7s.

MH is one of the better airlines in the world. The service is exceptional, with highly attentive FAs, who try to add a personal touch. On top of that, service is fairly consistent, perhaps not as consistent as SQ, but still top notch.

Pitch-wise, MH beats SQ's 744, with 34". It's as comfortable as Y class can be, but then again I'm only average height. Those who are taller may still find it uncomfortable but the pitch is pretty much the most you can expect in Y. The only issue are the IFE boxes underneath the seats...

Food is generally of decent quality. Surprisingly the meals are actually edible. IMO the Asian dishes are better than the other meals. Menus are distributed in Y class as well.

PTVs exist, but they are not AVOD. During my flight KUL-LHR, the PTVs weren't working well (they kept on freezing), but I managed to sleep, so it didn't matter much. Generally there is a decent line-up of movies, but again it's not SQ's Krisworld or anything.

KUL is a nice airport. Typically the In-field terminal (or whatever they call it), where most international flights arrive and depart, is the busiest. If you want some peace and quiet, take the train to Main terminal, it is usually deserted and eerily quiet (at least when I was there a few years ago), and because the terminal is so massive it is very easy to find a few row of seats for yourself. If you want to head into the city take the KLIA Ekspres, however KUL is quite far from the city, so I'd be quite careful before venturing out.

I have flow MH and the service is good in economy. Food is very good and the IFE is good but the aircraft I flew on did not have the upgraded system.

The 777 has wider seats than the 747 and there is only two instead of three by the window.

Well all the above is true and if your 6 foot 5 then your going to have trouble as i feel cramped being 6 foot 3. Sorry to put it so blunt ! My best bet would be to wait until the very very last person gets on and then go in last yourself and try find any seats which are vacant that have 2 or more free, giving you more leg room. Make sure you get an isle seat.
Service, food and IFE are pretty good so that will take up a few hours of your 13 hour flight. Have a great time down under

I flew Malaysia Airlines last year on a short flight on a 737, but was still impressed. The flight attendants were great. They adequately staff the planes, and if you even look at a flight attendant, then they will instantly be by your side asking if you need anything.

I flew MH last April, PER-KUL-ARN-EWR and back in economy. The FA's were really good and helpful. It was on the T7 and 744 and both had the updated entertainment system Great service, food was OK, and all in all I really like MH.

What's exactly the difference between the former and latest IFE?
